I don't think it's gonna be Nov 21st, the the label will not let Axl release an album after telling people 1 month in advance. We know about it, but your average person on the street may not.

Quote from: The HTGTH History
July 29th, 1991 - During the show at the Forum in Inglewood, CA, Axl mentions how Slash and himself finished the record yesterday. "The motherfucker is done".

September 10th, 1991 - Don't Cry single released in the US.

September 16th, 1991 - Use Your Illusion I and II are released in Europe.
The albums debuted at number one and number two on the Billboard charts. They marked the first time a major contemporary rock artist had released two separate albums on the same day.

September 17th, 1991 - US release of the Use Your Illusion albums.

in 1991 there was only 48 days between the announcement for UYI's and the album release....(42 days from the announcement to the single)

Dec 4/5 is 48 days from now Wink

I am not dellusional person, but let me be today... may I? Thank You.

If Axl announced Chinese Democracy coming out on VMA's on 23rd(Europe)/24th(USA), today is 46th day from it so that means we will have a single on 18th which is 48th day and album 6 or 7 days later on 23rd and 24th of October.

Exactly the same as with UYI, right?

I don't understand why you would need more then a month to promote the album. ?Seems like plenty of time to me.

wouldn't that shock the shit outta us hihi but when did he say "The real tour starts Oct 24th" ? hihi i think we should guage from then rofl

I'm not saying it's gonna be exactly like 1991 but it is possible to get an album out in a month and a half and still be commercially successful...by the same turn though NuGnR is hardly the public eye like the orig band was in 1991 peace

Don't know how much dead horse this is, but they finally updated the tour dates list and removed the nashville date.

Edit: On the off.site of course.

Maybe so but back then your average person expected a new GNR album, and they were the biggest band in the world.

Not anymore.

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #887 on: October 16, 2006, 05:32:02 PM »

CD wont need very much if any kind of promotion from the record label. Every music source, news network, and rock radio station will be talking enough about it to give Guns free promotion. A two week release date notice is all CD would need.

This is getting fucking ridiculous. Its October 16th, the tour starts in 8 days, and we still have no word on anything.

I'm getting more than a little frustrated.

I can't see why anyone is so pissed about this. We haven't been told it's not coming out this year and Merck narrowed it down slightly when he said it's coming before xmas.

So I think it's a good thing that we know that at the most we're getting the album within 9 weeks.

Do you think GNR will fuck this up and start the tour with no official word of a release date or single? ?It would be straight buffoonery for them to do so. ?This band is just so annoying in that sense. ?I'm pissed I had to switch from Jacksonville to Tampa, and if the change of date for Jacksonville isn't related to making some announcement then this is a joke. ?Jacksonville and Tampa are no where near selling out. ?Hell, any band worth a damn can sell MSG out in 30 minutes. ?It took GNR 2 weeks to do so. ?It is such a mistake to start this tour without an album. ?Why can't the band see the obvious?

I get the feeling we're all being played like a fiddle and year's end will come and go with no album. ?I hope I'm wrong.

I wouldn't put it past them. They tried it in 2002. They did the recent euro tour. They did the latest "warmup" ?hihi shows where they warmed up the same setlist.

Be happy that the band is tighter and Axl sounds better, I guess.

I don't believe one word that comes out of Merck's mouth, so - I'll continute to be skeptical until the CD is in my hands.

Your average person is better off then for not expecting a new album.

Axl and his label won't see it that way.
