Rolling Stone lost my respect when they did that 100 greatest guitarists issue - but I digress. For all we know, like feesty said, RS may have gotten fed misinformation on purpose. I still stick by Nov. 14 as being the logical date.

Axl probably goes on to these sites once a month just to laugh at us all.

My concern is that to get the massive attention back on the band, a huge (and i mean huge!) single needs to be out at least 4 or 5 weeks prior to this album release, and so far there are no signs whatsoever of one popping up in the coming weeks..... ?Undecided

why hasen't mysteron said something about or shut down this rumor... spooky hihi

Mysteron stated a reply has been given in the OP. There is a sidenote by Jarmo stating RS picked the wrong Tuesday.

As for Axl misleading the public?? why would he really care about doing that?! So us posting on messege boards can create a thread 30 pages long over this?!

there are never signs of anything happening in GNR.

An announcement could just pop up on the site one day saying we have a single.

He probably doesn't know anything more than we do.

Somehow, I doubt that.  One never knows, though...

Don't underestimate them. Their first album sold really well and they've got a lot of fans now. They may cater more towards teenage boys but I was surprised by how many people in general started listening to the first record.

It's as best a time as ever..hopefully this thing WILL be promoted more then the tour has been thus far.  Let's see this thing get the attention it deserves..November is the best month to let this thing go because it's BUYING season.  No matter what time of year people WILL buy this album, but I'm betting on late November, maybe the first tuesday in December at the latest.  But after that count the album out, I just don't see the strategy releasing it in LATE December.

I'm concerned that there has been no mention of a release date for a single from the new album, surely this should be very soon if the album is due this year?

@ feestybaby

agreed. I think RS just drew one "likely" tuesday in order to get a responce(=info) from the GNR camp.

There are numerous indications pointing to november.
December is too late from a marketing point of view.

from a long term marketing point of view, it's not too late or too early.
how it impacts on people when it comes out matters but what period is not that important.
I think any tuesday in this "late" fall ( before this Xmas) is possible.

GNR need to announce a release date NOW. Meaning, in the next few days. It would be very stupid on their part not to.

One thing to note, I guess, is the single issue.

These boards have been littered with fake rumors over the past few years about things happening and one opular one has always been a single. ?But not every artist puts out a isngle prior to the full-lenght's release anymore. ?

It's a decent tool to get radio play leading up to the album release, but don't assume that there will be a single ahead of the album release.
