I just can't see from a business point why you would take a chance like that with such an attractive alternative available. The business world see this type of thought put into strategic releases all the time, and you always seek to pick a date to best maximize your exposure if one exists.

You would never see Apple try and lauch a new operating system the same day as Microsoft would you if they had the option of doing so earlier? Of course not.

That is all I am trying to point out. Releasing the album the same day as one of music's biggest names offers the band no strategic marketing/promotional advantage.

yeah, i was just looking at the release dates for the other albums. ?The Spaghetti Incident came out on November 23rd, Lies and Live Era were released on November 30th.

I could agree with a decision to push it up one week or back one week to avoid going head to head with Jay-Z.. Jay-Z's cd will be a fucking powerhouse too.

I've been saying since the European tour started that November would be the best time for an album release, so I agree, it's a great time! I didn't think it would actually happen. Thanksgiving is a holiday season and there are always high sales, especially with music and movies. On top of that it's a month before Christmas which strategically qualifies it as a "new release" up through December and gives retailers a reason to put it on Xmas promotion, if it were released in Oct. then it wouldn't be a new release by then since after a month or so usually new releases are taken down from the shelves at most retail stores.

I'M GOING TO ORGASM!!

1. ?Do you think that the people going into Walmart to buy the Jay-Z album are the same people going there to buy Guns N' Roses? ?How about Vise Versa? ?I don't think so, friends. ?Jay-Z and GNR aren't even in the same category, and definately don't share the same demographics, so I don't think the same release date will hurt either artist...

2. ?Why has the news been taken off the main page?
