I thought the Snakepit albums were really poor, and I believe further proving the point that Axl was the more creative songwriter in GNR. The Snakepit albums are a guitar workout for Slash, dont get me wrong I love the guy and his playing but can he write a song as gd as Axl?? Id say no.....Compare the best work from I5OCS say "Good to be alive" to anything written by Axl....November Rain, Estranged and more recently the Blues...do I need to carry on?? Great musicianship by Slash but Axl is the better songwriter.
Saying that, the Snakepit albums would of sounded an awful lot better with Axl singin, and had Axl had a chance to write with Slash then they could of had a really good record.
Didnt I hear that Slash offered alot of songs from the 1st Snakepit record to Axl and Axl turned them down?? Think he said that he didnt want to do the whole "Blues-Rock" thing at that point?? Sure I read that here at some point over the years.

yes, then Axl got mad cause he used them on his solo album and Axl said there were some great ideas on there.

yeah the songs would be better....but the record would have still sucked...the songs just arent very good.....they would have been in the same boat as Motley Crue after they released that self titled crap in 94....the smartest thing to do was stay away in the mid 90's and that is why GNR still has a good size audience today

The Snakepit cd's are good, but god the singer on 'It's 5 O'clock Somewhere' really grates... I mean, he does a great job living up to Axl's repotoir, but after awhile it just pisses me off!
Axl's singing never gets old for me, though... So yeah, to answer your question I reckon it would be!!

Well there you go, I happen to think that self-titled Motley album is their best album.
