Show them no fear, show them no pain

First time seeing Aerosmith for me. I was so excited about it. The band didn't disappointed me, but the whole experience was a bit of a let down, if that makes sense. First the weather.... The fan club tickets thing didn't work too well either, I was expecting like a gold circle area, kinda like they did last Sunday at Wembley with Muse, but the only advantage we had was getting in 10 minutes before the rest of the public. The short set, due to the police rushing them, I was looking forward to hear some songs that were left out: Dude Looks Like a Lady, Janie's got a gun, Mama Kin.... But still, they sounded great and I loved every minute of it.

But I have to say, Hyde Park is a horrible, horrible place for gigs. It's completely flat, so if you are not right at the front and you are not very tall, all you can see is the back of people's heads. At some points I couldn't even see the screens!

Oh! Thanks a lot to whoever showered me in piss!! Very much appreciated!!!? rant

There are a few pics here:

those are cool pics - thanks for the link graciela!

yep - i was surprised to hear about the fan club ticket thing - didnt seem to be very well set up.  I think its far more to do with hyde park calling than the band though. What was with only allowing 20 mins / 30 mins between the bands for set-up??  prob the reason why Aerosmith were late on.  i was def missing a few songs (fallin in love, ragdoll, mama kin) - but what they played was great. they are total showmen.  I was stood a bit back from the catwalk and had quite a good view in the end.

thats so fkd you got showered in piss....  karma will get them (here's hoping!)

Really hope the band noticed how much they've been missed and get their asses back to UK soon for their own gig.

In a way she was lucky next to us some guys had a pot which has contained Marshmallows, well i think 4-5 of them pissed into it so it was half full and lauched it forward, whoever got that would of been very very unhappy.

Hey we must of been close i was probably 10meters back from the end of the catwalk, with fuck all chance of getting any further forward

thats really grim.....  why not just drop it on the ground??? or why not just piss on the ground?   no

I had the misfortune of standing next to the reincarnation of tommy vance for a bit, which was funny for a while then everyone around us grew very tired of him.  Last seen, he was shirtless and hugging that inflatable giant cock in front of the right screen, yelling along to Cryin'.... classic  hihi

I was rather lazy and only went for Chris and Aerosmith, so didnt get there till just after 6.30pm - so I couldnt get anywhere further than where I was and didnt really expect to - and to be honest at my height, standing further back was an advantage!

Thought Joe Perry did a good "I'm a guitar god" routine....maybe that's because he is. Anyway was very impressed with him. Yeah it was short but while it lasted it was great.

Need to start new threads on Black Stone Cherry and Rose Hill drive who I thought were both excellent. Satriani bored me senseless although I did notice he was rather good at the guitar....guess I just wanted a 20min Surfing with the Alien

Aerosmith will be back in North America next month for a few shows following the band's current tour of Europe.

So far, the rockers have four North American dates on the books--two in Canada and two in California--beginning July 19, according to Aerosmith's official fan club website. Those gigs are listed below.

July 2007
19 - Sarnia, Ontario - Sarnia Bayfest
21 - Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island - Blast at the Beach
25 - Paso Robles, CA - California Mid-State Fair
27 - Kelseyville, CA - Konocti Harbor Resort

I would love to see them play SOS. You're lucky dude. I like that Seasons of Wither has become almost a staple in the set the past couple years. Great song. Seeing "I don't Want To Miss A Thing" in there makes me cringe tho. They should be using that time to play "F.I.N.E." or "Lick and a Promise".

I hope they add a decent venue in the Los Angeles area.  State Fairs aren't my cup of tea.  Lips Sealed
