Oct 17, 2011
?I?m androgynous,? declares the ?Dude Looks Like a Lady? singer. ?I?ve just got more female energy. I like that flowing and nurturing and I?m a songwriter, so I?m into form and fashion and how it all goes together.

I don't see why he's getting slammed. I thought he did quite well. He didn't mess up. He's never had the best voice and he's 63 years old. I'd like to see the people slamming him do better.

It sounded like Steven Tyler singing the National Anthem. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't know what people expected. At least he didn't add 100 extra notes and extend it to 15 minutes to show off how "good" he is like these "pop" singers.

Steven has had some bad performances of the Anthem in the past, but I don't think yesterday was one of them. Thought it was quite good.

STEVEN TYLER Defends National Anthem Performance
"I don't know. As I said before, I put emphasis on, 'In the land of the free' and I went up," Tyler explained to the Associated Press. "Oddly enough I hit the note so I don't know what they are talking about. I emphasized 'free' which was for freedom. It was well thought out prior to. I wasn't messing with American tradition."

From Brad Whitford:
March 04, 2012
?I think people are going to see a lot of Aerosmith later in the year,? Whitford said. ?We?ve got a new song that?s gonna be used in a major motion picture this summer, so that?s probably the first new music fans will get to hear. We may even debut it on ?American Idol? in May. We?re definitely planning on touring the U.S. later in the summer.
?As for the new CD, the music is done ? we?re just waiting to get some of the vocals added in,? he continued. ?Hopefully, we?ll have that done sooner rather than later. It?s been a decade since we last had new music out, and I know I?m ready for it.?

Apparently, all those reports of Steven Tyler's contentious relationship with his Aerosmith bandmate Joe Perry have been wildly exaggerated. On the March 22 episode of American Idol, Perry showed up to wish Tyler a very happy birthday.
