Launch Radio Networks reports: AEROSMITH is asking fans to help with something special on their upcoming tour. The band is thinking about doing two of their albums live at the shows, and they want to know which ones you'd prefer. Go to the fan club web site Aeroforceone.com and vote for your favorites from throughout the band's career. The poll is open until October 15, which would give AEROSMITH two weeks to rehearse the winners, since they hit the road with LENNY KRAVITZ beginning October 30 in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Lead guitarist Joe Perry recently told Boston radio station WZLX-FM that the idea to focus on an album or two has been around for a while. "It's been something we've talked about for years, you know, like, actually doing a kind of a mini-set in the middle of a big set, you know, where you do an album from front-to-back, in that order," he said. "So if we got enough of a groundswell from our fans to do something like that, we would definitely do it."

AEROSMITH will release the live "Rockin' the Joint" set on October 25. The DualDisc features a live performance on the CD side and footage from the show on the DVD side.

Yeah, this is the coolest idea I've heard in a while.  The only thing is I don't know which albums to choose.  Its a tough decision.

Launch Radio Networks reports: If an online post is to be believed, AEROSMITH drummer Joey Kramer is in a lot worse shape than anyone knows. "Therockojpp" at the fan-run AeroFANatic web site wrote that he spoke to guitarist Brad Whitford at an autograph session at the First Act Guitar Studio in Boston on Saturday (October Cool. Rumor has it that Kramer might miss some of the early shows on the AEROSMITH tour due to a shoulder injury, and Whitford supposedly said that Kramer was willing to try and play, but his doctors said he'd be risking the rest of his career if he went out on the road. There's been no official comment from AEROSMITH on Kramer or his health, but the Boston Globe reported that Kramer's son Jesse might sit in until his dad is ready to go.

The last great Aerosmith album, IMHO, was "Rock in a Hard Place," with Jimmy Crespo on guitar. Great album, wayyy underrated. The 80s stuff was okay, but they have sucked balls since the early 90s.

I do think RIAHP is very underrated.  Same goes for Night In The Ruts, also a good album that doesn't get much credit.  Even Draw The Line doesn't get the credit it deserves...one of their best.  What ever happened to Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay after they left the band?  Jimmy was too good a guitarist to just not do anything else.

According to the Boston Herald, on-the-mend AEROSMITH sticksman Joey Kramer won't entirely sit out the Boston Bad Boys' new tour that kicks off at the end of the month. The band's longtime drummer, who is recovering from rotator cuff surgery, will be performing with the group when they hit the road with LENNY KRAVITZ.

However, Joey's sticks-wielding son Jesse will be ready to pound the skins when Dad's pain becomes overbearing and he takes time out from the group's set to ice his shoulder backstage.

Word is, Jesse, 24, is rehearsing with the band after getting a quickie primer on the old and new AERO-tunes from the old man.

"They really, really didn't want to go out of the family to get a drummer," said a backstage spy. "It was actually Brad (Whitford) who called Steven [Tyler] to put the bug in his ear about Jesse, who has been playing the L.A. club scene for quite a while. And it's not like they didn't know what he could do. He's been touring with them since he was a little kid!"

I own Joe Perry's new album.  It fuckin' rocks.  If you like songs like Bright Light Fright, Stop Messin' Around, and Back Back Train you'll definitely like it.  I think I read somewhere that a lot of the songs were Aerosmith tunes that they couldn't find a place for on any albums.  Its good stuff.  His first solo album, Let The Music Do The Talking, is also very good.  I highly recomend both of them.

Pretty good. He does a cover of the Doors "Crystal Ship" which I am still unsure about. It's ok, but I can't say I like it or dislike it.
