No love for Philly?...I was there like many of us in '02 and we'd love to see a date at the Wachovia Center in Philly, anyone think theres a snowballs chance in hell of GNR coming to the Philly area?..or Wilkes-Barre, that date was originally scheduled for sometime in December 02...but alas, we all know what happened

The date was December 8th, 2002,  Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, United States  First Union Arena and it got moved to December 8th, 2002, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States  First Union Spectrum. I think that was showing some love for Philly by having two shows the same weeken. If everything would have went ok Philly would have been the only city with two official shows on the tour. I'm sure once the cd is out this year next time around they will hit PA.  ok

amen to that... I guess we'll just have to wait though  beer

NJ, NY, and MD are all reasonably close, so there's no huge loss.  Anyone that wants to see them can just go to one of those shows, since distance isn't that big of an issue.

I wouldn't say those words.. they often come back to bite you.  Not a big Philly fan myself, but apparently they're not the only city in PA that chokes in the NFL..

At any rate, go to the OH show.

Yes, it really fucking sucks.

Of course they'll probably pull a "surprise" Philly gig for fans once the tour is over, and those of us who use this forum will find out too late, it'll be one of those "secret" performances a la the acoustic gigs. They'll take random bums off the street and be like, "YOU WANNA SEE GUNS N' ROSES?!?" And they'll be like, "Wha?" And Axl will be standing in the doorway of the bus and be like, "ALL ABOARD MOTHAFUCKAS! YOU'RE IN THE JUNGLE BABY!" And the bums will be like "Who the hell is this freak?" and Axl will toot his Nightrain whistle and wear a conductor's hat and turn into Tom Hanks from Polar Express and sing while he makes them all hot cocoa.

I REALLY need to stop fantasizing about these things.

I hope they play Philly though.

Speaking of which, David Lee Roth on Leno playing bluegrass Van Halen? Worst fucking thing I've seen all my life. Scarred me...forever. Go look it up, it's addictive as hell and something you'll wish you'd never seen.

I am pretty sure that Gn'R (AXL) deciding to not play that night had just a little to do with their behavior. They knoew they weren't going to play, and that show should have been cancelled before people set foot in that venue.

I'm going to both Cleveland and Hunington, WV.  But Pittsburgh is only 50 miles away.

Awesome show in Hershey, back in '91.  I've got the show in lossless and a few pieces of memorabilia from the show as well... Glad to see others were representing  beer

I agree with you Rancid...No, the fans behavior was not appropriate but you can't pin it all on them.  A no show is a no show, regardless of the reasons, and people are going to be pissed...Especially people from Philly.
