in 2002 MSG sold out in 15 minutes....this makes no sense....anyone?

One things' for sure,
Mr. Axl Rosenberg picked a wrong nite to play in front of the largest Jewish audience outside of Israel.
It's Friday Nite, time to light the Sabbath candles & chill out for me. Grin

I'll be seeing him & his GNR at Continental Airlines Arena on Sunday Night 11.5.2006

It will be a great show. I recommend all non-Jews to see this show.
I hope there the set list is 40-60, new to old material. In other words, maybe 3 new songs to the mix for 6-7 songs.

MNW

I'm not going to get into a discussion about religion, but what you just said is not only dumb, it's almost offensive. I'm a jew myself, and I'm going to the MSG show, regardless of what day they're playing on. And to say "I recommend all non-jews see the show" is horrible. As if all jews should stay home because it's the sabbath? I don't think so. I'm not a practicing jew so sabbath means very little to me, and I'm sure many other jews feel the same and will be in attendance that night at the Garden. If you're not going to the show because of religious beliefs, you should keep them to yourself.

Chill out & have some Manischewitz, it'll calm you down.
Just trying to be funny - have a sense of humor for once.

MNW

to practising Jews; the Sabbath is sacred.? And the poster has a point that NYC has the highest Jewish poulation outside of israel and if you expand that to NY;NJ;CT; probably a higher jewish population than Israel.

if you're not a practising jew, why bother commenting on a practising Jew's concert going habits......you should Lips Sealed

Here's a better idea. If you wanna stay at home cause you value your religion, do that. If you value the best friggin' band in the entire world, Guns N' Roses, and wanna rock out at a now sold out MSG show, do that instead.

Now everyone is happy

Seriously, religion, race, creed, gender, sexuality-none of these belong in this thread.  This is about people going to shows to see the best band in the world and having a great time doing so.  If you plan on staying home for whatever reason be it religious belief or anything of the sort it really just does not belong here because it almost seems as if you are condemning someone else who isn't following what you are doing.

Except of course if you follow the Cult of Axl Rose, that is always accepted, haha! Tongue

I'm jewish, and i feel pretty guilty about going to this show, I'm going anyways but besides the point, it would be very wrong for me to recommend another jew to going to this show. me going is bad enough.

There's nothing wrong with what mark said, if he would have started preaching how evrey jew that goes to the show deserves death, that would be a little offensive. but the fact that he only reccomends this show for non-jews is pretty commendible.

HOLY F*CKING SH*T!!! ENOUGH!!!

No more religion!!! This is a message board and thread about Guns and Roses, not about how your religious practices fit into the equation of GNR...BECAUSE THEY DON'T.

You're jewish? Good, now shut up. You're Catholic? Good, keep quiet. Atheist? Fine, whatever.

This is a place to worship Axl and the other members of Guns N' Roses. if you're not here to worship them, then SHUT UP!!!..........and go to hell  ok

um dude i was almost positive that GA was only 1 section and there isnt a back or front, i think they only put numbers on the tickets like GA seat 124 just so they know how many people are there and whatnot, GA is general admission as they let u go where u want to

Not sure how it works at Continential Arena with the entire floor being GA but yo don't suppose they section it off for crowd control do you??
hmm..just a thought..but like I said I've never been to the former Meadowlands Arena where the entire floor is GA.

At least at the Garden the front portion where sections 1-4 are GA'ed.

There are 2 sections

VIP GA=Front
BACK GA=Back

It says clearly on your ticket which one you are-

Also see the seating map on the Meadowlands for detail:

http://www.meadowlands.com/eventDetail.asp...mp;eventid=2679

On the right shows the seating map which clearly indicates 2 GA sections for this event.

In the center as always is a center sound mix stage area, so that is probably the reason for the front and back GA, so as not to interfere with the mix stage

Actually as per ticketmaster whom I spoke with for over an hour regarding this they told me it was done at the request of the promoter after the show had already gone on sale.? They even gave me a refund because of it and I bought VIP tix for face from someone else.

People just seemed to get randomly grouped to either the back or VIP and I bought my tix the minute the TM presale started.? Go figure-

The mix is in the back as you can see in the pic-

Also, now I see where I read the parking lot doesn't open til 5:30, it's right there on that page-

Haha, yup that's what it used to be called.  Brendan Byrne Arena or however it's spelled.  I can't even believe they are allowing GA for this at all, I haven't seen them allow it there since the early 90s.

On that note I am off to bed! peace

i'm hoping the msg show  is the one where they play some diff material.. i'm not complaining about the set list.. i totally understand.. that they are playing the songs that fans at the shows want to hear.. but they just played 4 shows here in may.. i went to 2 and they were awsome.. and i saw them at msg in 02..   so i think this is a situation.. where it wouldn't just be the "losers on the internet"  complaining about the set list.. but i think the fans at the show would welcome some changes to the 4 shows in May.  plus this is a huge market.. so a new song would get a ton of press ect.. and would be priceless promotion for the album.. if its going to drop this year..

haha yep, that was it.  Last show I saw at Continental (Brendan Byrne) was NIN when they opened for David Bowie back in 1994 I believe.  God, I can't believe its been that long.  I did see the Nets play there last season though.  Should be interesting.

So who all is tailgating?  I am rolling 6 deep and we have a thirst for alcohol.  We will all be drunk and obnoxious.  Any organized thing going on in the parking lot?

Reliogion is based on money, money is the root of all evil, yadda yadda, also religion is practiced in church and at home.  It is not discussed on gnr message boards.  So please stop, no one here gives a dam how guilty you feel  or if your going to whatever hell your religion says you are.  Anyway I cant wait for the show in N.J. Maybe we will get one of those unheards. Probably the Msg show is where some news will come out via axl, either way I cant wait!
