ummmm ticket prices???  You would be surprised that there are people on this board who are skipping shows because of money issues or not buying the tickets they want.

The New Jersey show seems to be selling at a very slow pace.  As of yesterday you could buy 6 lower level tickets.  Anyone want to confirm this?

yeah they are at the very back though and high up (row 22)....toronto has basicall the same available just too far away for the price people would rather be closer to the stage and higher up

but basically half sold out is pretty good IMO

I saw an advertisement for both MSG & Continental yesterday @ around 40th & 7th... Looked exactly like the Hammerstein ones, exact with different dates and venues...

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #245 on: October 04, 2006, 03:13:08 PM »

I am guessing once we get a single, and the tour promotion hits full steam that most of the shows should sell out. I like the way the first leg of the tour is laid out, and I think its laid out for more shows to be sold out. Cleveland for example is the only Ohio show, if they promote it well enough it should sell out. As for MSG give it time the place will be a sell out.

they have been promoting the hell out of the show on radio stations here in NY (specifically Q104.3.) A lot of people know they are coming around. its weird that the show hasnt sold out yet.

not many seats left i jsut searched ticketmaster and best seats available was the very back of the highest section...sold out in less than a week with virtually no promotion is pretty damn good IMO

Not really when you compare selling out in 15 minutes in 2002 but taken nearly a week (and counting) to sell out now. Surely People should be going nuts over seeing GnR but no wait as said no promo no single no album, the excitement and buzz of GnR being "back" (I use that word loosely) faded after the 2002 tour collasped and now more then ever they need the album if they want this tour to sell well.

2002's sellout was a press sellout. It was papered, and more seats came available after. Seems like it's a real sale this time.

Well I hope you guys are right. I have 4 extra ticket for sale for the NJ show and hoping to get rid of them at no mark up just what I paid for them.
I hope it sells out or close to it so I can get my money back.

I panic'd and bought the firts 4 i could get, but they are not good for taking my kids like I am. To close to the action for them.

How is section 1 seating at NJ. Are those good seats. Do they elevate them since they right behind GA?

The tickets I'm going to use are in section 123

What is all this talk of a papered/media sell out?? What's that mean exactly?? They put less tickets on sale so it would sell out and then put more on sale later on?

I was there at MSG... there was a large amount of people who came expecting to see the original lineup... I think its settled in by now to most that it is a new band.

If GnR's not going to release new material they don't deserve to sell out any of these venues. I'm sick of getting fucked over. This could potentially be the second time I see "The Chinese Democracy Tour" without having "Chinese Democracy". I thought for sure we would have a single this week, but hey the band is doing some killer promotion by putting up a video of Axl and his all star backing musicians playing the GnR classic "Paradise City". ?

Chil out dude, we still got time for a single to be released before the tour.  ok

MSG will be sold out as will most other places. I checked ticketmaster yesterday and only singles were available in the higher sections.

And for some reference, dont be worried about sellouts. Listen to this, The Chili Peppers just played the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston and it wasnt sold out, I could've still gotten tickets the day of if I wanted to go. Also, Tool is playing at the Hartford Civic Center tomorrow, and the dj on Lazer 99.3 said today that the show wasnt even sold out.

GN'R aint got nothing to worry about.

People, some of you are beyond reach.  You just post non-stop non-sense.  One can always get tickets to the upper level areas of a loge or the upper levels of shows--all shows all artists.  Look, the NJ show is damn near full.  Of course one can pull up four seats together at the back of the lower or upper levels.  If it was half full, you could request six tickets, and get them for row three, of the lower level at the loge which would be diagonal from the stage.  Good god the stupidity....

Second of all,  for the hundredth time--when shows are publisized as sold out, 99 out of 100 times one can go to ticketmaster, and buy tickets right up to show time.  Sell outs really only happen on the night of the show.  For gods sake, there are always more tickets to sell--this is business.  Also, brokers may buy a 100 tickets on the date of the show, and return 60 a few days later--one day after that, they are back on sale through ticketmaster.

One could get lower level groups of three and four to the MSG 2002 show up until show-time.  But, because Clear Channel said it was a sell out (for the damn press release), everyone here believes it was a sell out.  These are not small arenas--there are always extra seats.  Heck, before you know it, they will be selling seats at the top level directly behind the stage, and people here will say "it's selling bad, I can get a whole group of five seats in the upper loge at a 45 degree angle behind the stage--ticket sales must be slow."  Wake up!!!

They sold 24 000 tickets in ~20min in Finland. That's pretty damn good IMO.

Exactly, and one could still log onto the system and find more or buy more on the show date at the gate.  yes

This couldn't be better said.  GNR paranoia is kicking in.  Can't we be greatful we have a tour and are able to see the band we love instead of pretending to be record execs, marketing experts and the like?  Personally I am greatful there are still tickets available because it is keeping scalpers from making money.
