Personally I've never liked them. Every song sounds the same to me. Of course I love CKY and not many people seem to be into them so to each his own [beer]

I don't know much about Tools music, but I saw some of their videos on the Rock Show on VH1.

Lateralus is sheer brilliance. Total mindfuck of an album. One of the last great rock bands around and nobody comes even close to them in the video dept.

One song does it for me.....
Ticks and Leeches, every comment in your first thread BA could not be more appropriate.
Its mind blowing stuff, so diverse yet so catchy, tell u what though listening to them stoned freaks me out.
Quiet drum beats and then the burst into hard rock, find myself getting very paranoid.
but no in all seriousness, they are fucking amazing, ive only really gotten into them this year but i would love to see them live.
What a fucking show that would be.

yeah, has anyone noticed how that perfect circle singer sounds awfully like him
I'll have to be on the other side of the fence however, prefering mer de noms to any of the Tool albums
although not putting any Tool album down, they are fucking
love the band
any of the Tool fans in here like a perfect circle?

HAHAHA tool suck.
I agree the drummer is good though.
To be honest i have only heard 4 songs and the ones that Jon has played for me..... but i don't think they are that special.
I think RHCP and SOAD are better...... and they don't even come close to GNR or Coldplay

I'm not a fan of Tool at all. I do think the new Chili Pepper Album kicks ass. Funny how the Zephyer Song and By the Way are the two singles... The rest of the album is really cool and chill. I dig it.

gnrfan shut the fuck up.
you dont even know tool.hey everyone we were driving in my mates car and i put on ticks and leeches and parabola and gnrfan was complaining.he didnt even shut up long enough to appreciate it.
ben you have no clue about music if you think coldplay are better than tool.
tool kick coldplays ass in every aspect of being a band and writing music.infact its an insult to put them in the same sentence.

To be honest i really beleive that Tool are more talented than Coldplay..... but that does not make them better.
I think Coldplay have created a different type of music and IMO their songs are better to listen to. I have heard about 4 or 5 tool songs and to be honest they are average not great but not bad.
And any band that can't be arsed to talk to their fans at a gig are just SAD put on a show for god sake.
As far as me not knowing anything about music if i think coldplay are better.... That is the most stupid comment ever..... Music is about opinion more that any industry in the world.... I think some people don't knwo much about music if they think someones opinion is WRONG.
To me they are one of those bands who if they are on a music chanel i leave on but i would never part with my money for that excuse they call a album. haha.... ALL OPINION.

I personnaly think Tool is great for all of the reasons already stated. Coldplay is ok, but probably ends up as one of those "here today gone tomorrow" bands that will likely have no real long lasting impact (just like Staind).
I don't want to speak for the man, but I think Axl really likes Tool too. I read where he attended a show or two and really loves them live and loves that industrial sound (they may have actually influenced OMG and maybe even some music off of the soon to be released album (wait to see - personally hope not).

I will never get a tool album.
