Brian May, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton all got knighted a few years ago but there all still British. (I might be wrong about this but I'm sure I read about it somewhere)

None of them were knighted. BM and EC are CBEs, and JP is OBE which are lesser honours than knighthood. I think the only rock'n'roll knights or 'sirs' are Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger and Elton John (and Cliff Richard.) It is possible for non UK citizens to get honorary knighthoods (Giuliani and Geldof for example) but they aren't allowed to call themselves 'sir'.

Dual citizenship isn't handed out just because you're born in one country and move to another. It's usually the result of special circumstances, where two governments agree to recognise dual-citizenship for a certain group of people for political reasons (usually displacement due to civil unrest - or in britain's case, colonisation :p).
