They play msg on the 10th and the next show is the 13th. Anyone know if the artist has been set on that date for SNL yet

Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

That's Remembrance Day. I doubt they'll even have a live SNL that day.

Rememberance Day is a Canadian holiday, so I think SNL will be live, since its in the United States of America.

It will definitely not happen.

GN'R might be able to get an SNL gig if they wanted to, but SNL generally goes for the shitty bands these days or gangsta rappas with no talent. I'm not sure I'd want to see them play on any show starring the talentless hacks they have employed at that show right now.

Besides, they'll probably be airing a rerun then rather than a new show.

How lame would it be if they did a special GN'R appearance on boxing day. Imagine this scenario:

Quote
Lights out. Strobes flicker. A rising platform appears. A gruff, shirtless, out-of-shape Axl Rose appears hunched over with boxing gloves, a microphone in grip. "GET IN THE RING!" he screams, before burping and passing out.

Sorry. I just got this image in my head. "GET IN THE RING ROUND TWO TOUR!"  hihi

Anyway, back on topic. I really don't see this happening. I think GN'R needs to release an album before they appear before an AVERAGE audience like SNL where non-fans are watching...Axl needs to solidify this band in the PUBLIC's conscience first.

Why don't you tell us how you really feel about the show.

Why they'd play SNL, despite your ill feelings toward the show, is because there's almost always a corelation between an appearance on SNL and album sales. ?Almost every artist who plays SNL sees a spike in album sales the week after. ?Not saying they will or should, but that if they do, that's going to be why.

Cheers,

Andrew

Do you know how many artists SNL have turned down?

I'm not saying they wouldn't accept GN'R, but their primary audience is college-level, and most of this demographic wouldn't tune in for GN'R. A lot of great rock bands like GN'R never appear on SNL because Lorne Michaels tries to stay closer to what's "hip" and also what is safer. He's done this since the show started, why do you think it was such a big deal when Nirvana appeared? They've had bands like Pearl Jam and RHCP, but to non-fans - outside of the GN'R circle we are in - Guns N' Roses hasn't been active for over a decade.

If GN'R appear you can call me wrong. But I think right now, at this point in time, SNL wouldn't take much of an interest in them.

The Killers are on there this weekend so maybe Axl will present them again. You know, because they're "such great guys."
