My bet is that we will not hear anything official, until they announce, or play a warm-up gig before RIO.? In the long run, keeping this thing shrouded in mystery is the best marketing strategy they can deploy!? I know it does not satisfy the fans on the messageboards, but oh well.??

Strikingly, I still don't know if everything is 100% set as to who is playing in RIO, and if the album is going to come out this summer, this fall, or 1st quarter 2007.  Heck, there maybe a legal dispute over Buckets parts, and another on determining which label it will be out on (although I would assume Geffen, as I don't think Sanctuary has the means to release an album of this size worldwide at the current moment).

1)? Actually, keeping it "shrouded in mystery" is a double edged sword.? It could surpress ticket sales for the Euro tour, and cost them a preferred release date if someone else snaps it up with a big release.

2)? The lineup (less the possible new guitarist) is 100% set...no matter what the "reunionists" want to believe.? Certainly the current line up has made their travel arrangements and even, in one case, posted the tour dates on their web site.

3)? There really couldnt' be a legal dispute over Bucket's parts.? He was under contract.? Everything he recorded while under contract can be used....provided Axl/GnR want to use them.

4) It will be released on a Universal label, for sure. They are under contract.? I would think Geffen, with about 99.8% certainty, given that's GnR's "home".? Sanctuary is not their (meaning GnR's) label, at this moment, and, barring some sort of agreement with Universal (which would cost them a ton of cash they don't, apparently, have to promote and distribute an album they don't have the means or capabilities to promote or distribute) that's unlikely to change.

For the record, it's only 11 am in L.A., if that's where the announcement would come from.  Of course, that's under the assumption that anything would be announced today.

We aren't getting any news of any kind, any time soon. This whole tour is a load of crap if we don't at least know when we'll get a single or any album.

The more time that goes by, with no news on the album, the more people (and rightfully so, with the hiatus of VR) will speculate about the chances of the original band taking the stage.  Not right or wrong, but what will most likely happen.

Their website syas they are, but it has been very quiet from them in light of axl's press release, i.e. no outright denials, and the retraction of scott's response. I'm not sayin any of the rumors are remotly true, just seems odd.

I have to speculate, it may have nothing to do with any reunion talk, but there is obviously something going on that is preventing either side from saying anything.

On the VR board I saw that Slash said they've begun pre-production.

Duff and Matt were workling on a number of songs.

And Slash has about a dozen songs or so that he's happy with.

Not to mention what they worked on while on tour.

It's funny, VR hasn't even been off tour for 6 months and people are calling it a hiatustheir breaking up, etc, whereas, with Axl and GnR, Chinese Democracy supposedly has been having the finishing touches put on it for years now.
