Well it's past 2pm British time now. There are now three things that can happen

1) There won't be an annoucnement

2) Maybe an annoucnement will come later today

3) Axl and everyone in the GN'R camp forgot to put the clocks forward on Sunday 

Or maybe the info some people had was wrong. It's not like someone's accusing anyone. It's just that people make mistakes sometimes...

And things change, too....

Lets face it: No one but Merck and Axl have the most current info on the subject.? Information that was passed down through other avenues might not be current, or, it was current and correct when it was passed on, but has now changed. And thus....

From my side, my friend is still thinking today or tomorow (as of last night) because they have not been told otherwise, YET.

"My friend", as I've explained before (and earlier in this thread) works in PR and Marketing for a mid-sized retail record chain owned by a larger (as in huge) chain.

As of 6PM yesterday, I was still hearing "by the 28th" - now that's from a person who gets his info from the label side of things (and it usually takes a day or two to trickle to him, unless he prods) so who knows.  It sure would be nice, though.

The GH PR announcment hit at about 10 AM Eastern Time when it went out.....so I'm not too discouraged that we haven't heard anything yet.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why everyone thinks that there is going to be an imminent annnouncement?  Did someone at Sanctuary say so much in the past few months?  Or was this a self-perpetuating rumor, that originated on the messageboards? Can someone provide an explanation?

As Pilferk's info comes directly from the retail sector (as in, the people who will actually sell this stuff) I'd tend to say his info would be more accurate (or at least more timely) than my own - it makes perfect sense that they'd be notified in advance of any announcement that could potentially get their phones ringing off the hook with "When can I buy Chinese Democracy?" "Is it in the store?" "Is there a dualdisc edition?" "A limited edition?" etc, etc, etc.

Those of you in other timezones need to realize its not even 10 AM Eastern Time here.  If the announcement were to come out of Sanctuary's office in NYC (Which is what I would expect) they still have plenty of time in the "business day" to do so.

It would make sense to make the announcement really soon, cause of the shows.

However I heard that a Greek promoter is thinking of doing the gig in Greece, which means that they have a deadline which hasn't expired yet.
