Don't they just get the announcements and update their databases etc.? Are they involved in asking record companies about when one is coming? Huh?

If they were told in advance, I guess it's something that relates to retail which means it can't be just about a tour?

Yes, on the retail side (though not directly in retail). ?She's in PR and Marketing for the whole chain (which, in turn, is owned by a much bigger chain). ?They typically get heads up to expect PR's or album announcements (especially "big" ones) so they can begin to plan their workload within their department, and within their groups. ?I'm not sure how they come by the information (asked for or volunteered by, I assume, the label) but I'll ask her. ?I know she gets the word from her boss, who gets the word from their parent company.

As for why they'd get the PR? Yes, you're correct. ?It would have to have something to do with a product release. ?Now, the last time this happened, it turned out it was for GH, not CD. ?All they know is that a PR is coming, not specifically what's going to be in it. ?Also, keep in mind, this is the 3rd different time frame they've been given on this particular PR.....the first one coming JUST before the first Euro tour dates started coming to light, the 2nd last week (targeting the end of last week) and this one targeting the early part of this week.

Oh eek...now I'm REALLY nervous  nervous  I honestly expect that this press release will not be something we expect to hear.  Either just about the tour, or about something non-CD related  confused

i was hanging out at wccc in hartford yesterday and i was asking about the release date for godsmak and he was telling me that u know they will usually get the date for ehen the new single is gonna be out along with the date for the record release, i then asked him about gn'r and anyone has heard anything about some kind of released date and as usual he looked at me and just laughed and said sorry, the only thing we have heard of lately regarding gn'r is not to play the new songs  no

Maybe GH2? If so this is like their going over/resuming 2004. Even so, it can only be better than the last time. as far as we are seeing Chinese democracy I don't give a snap whether we'll see GH2 in advance or not.
