No doubt in my mind that he'd be managing a record store if he stayed in Indiana (if he didn't lose his temper and deck the boss).?

And if he came to L.A., he would have worked his way up through the retail records ranks to? be an A&R guy for a label.? Or, he would have scraped together his own indie label (courtesy of a rich girlfriend's family) and discovered another 'Seattle.'? ?Cool

I truly believe that Axl Rose was born to be one of the greatest rock-n-roll frontmen that have ever lived.  I believe that he was born to succeed at this.  Had he not, I hate to say he'd be "dead" or "in jail", or even "working a remedial service job", but those options are quite often the outcomes for musicians who don't make it (and even some who do).

Axl does have a knack for writing; I could see him writing some crazy fucked-up memoirs (? la Augusten Burroughs) about his crazy fucked-up life and making a living (and garnering a modicum of notoriety) in that way.  Heck, he could still write a book.  I'd buy it!
