Back stage with Axl (hypothetical topic)

heres the deal.

you've just been invited back stage (or to an after party etc..) with Axl and co.? Problem is... your girlfriend, boyfriend, best pal whatever.... (you name the scenerio) is not....

once in a lifetime chance to party with band-- do you ditch your g/f ...b/f pal etc... or decline (lets pretend for arguements sakes that negotiation is not gonna work--its you alone of nothing)

What do you do?

*i'm sure at some point in the past 10 years? this thread has come up but hopefully not in recent memory.

second: for those you say they would ditch who they were with.... what do you think the reactions from them would be--honest

*personally: i don't ditch my buddy or my wife... that just wouldnt be cool...faced with that scenerio...I'd have to pass

Well i would ditch ive had it done to me and its cool if your lucky enough to get back stage you fucking go hopefully your freind would be cool enough to understand the situation and that its something you really want to do, i mean backstage last an hour or so so whats the worries in waiting in a nearby pub/club or car for an hour. Fucking traffic takes that long to clear anyway. Thats my story and im sticking to it.

I've had this happen to me twice before. Not with gnr, but another one of my favorite bands. I ditched my friend in each case. If they are really your friend, significant other, whatever, they should understand. I'd only expect the same from my friend.

Worse case scenario, give them money to get a cab and check into a hotel until you're done.? You'll have a place to crash after partying your ass off too!  That is if you honestly care about who ever is with you.

this actually almost happened to me at a NIN show in June.  My friend I was with LOVES NIN and she is absolutely beautiful.  Well she got a backstage pass and they weren't going to let me back.  I told her to go and live it up if she wanted to and I would understand.  She actually told me to give her a half hour to see if she could get me backstage and if it didnt work, she didnt care if Trent Reznor was going to take her to Hawaii with him she wouldn't leave me.  It never got to that point as she actually did manage to get me backstage and we both meant Trent.  It ruled! 

But if I had to make a choice....  My friends would understand.  So I would go if it were my friends or one of my brothers.  But a gf, no way I would do that unless if she had some one to leave with and she gave me her blessing.

I sorta did this last week.  I had lawn seats for Inland Invasion.  A buddy of mine called and said he had backstage passes, so I ditched my lawn-buddy.  Turns out they were VIP passes.  Not the same thing.  But yeah,  I would even ditch Angelina Jolie to meet Axl.  I have to show him my arm before I die.
