I like it, although it won't be on CD. I like GNR songs that are a bit different from their others.

That song blows....you'll never see it.....I don't see it ever being released....at least not until they are on top of the world again....that way they can use it as a filler on another record.......BTW....that song blows..

I like it. Something different, and I like the attitude in it. Altough IMO the HOB version is better than this one.. They should use it as a b-side yes

I've only heard really bad bootlegs of the song played live (like the rest of us)... I can't really make an opinion of the song on the versions that are available... That said, the song does sound interesting/promising....  I would love to hear a studio version....

I'd take Rhiad over SW any day... The vocal preformance by Axl on Rhiad is spectacular... SW is just sort of annoying IMO.

Silkworms is a brilliant slice of genius, and I'm not joking.

The reason people hate it is because it needs more development and Axl's vocals then sucked, they were too whiny.

People credit Pitman but that was also very much a Bucket song, you can tell just by listening to his solo albums.

It's got the rock-funk style of Rocket Queen with Aphex Twin-style synth/techno - it just needs more work.

As it is I kind of dislike the song, it gets on my nerves.

The problem isn't the techno/synth beat and sound effects... the problem is the vocals and the total fuckin' lack of structure.
If Axl would've actually sung this song instead of just trying to do some crap spoken word thing on it, it might actually be somewhat descent.

Holy lord of heavens.... That song was awful. A studio version might make it less...crappy, but geez... *faints*

Yeah, he also sounded more like Axl then when he spoke (not sang).

Don't know if anyone's noticed but his voice has changed a lot in the past few years, just like Mickey Rourke's changed.

I think the song is heavily influenced by the Sex Pistols (at least in terms of vocals and structure) albeit heavier but the song doesn't do much for me.  This is by far my least favorite of any of the songs by the new incarnation of GNR.

To King Sand:  The RIR III is a soundboard and is excellent quality.  If you can't find it let me know and I'll post it.  Definitely not a bad bootleg.

I really don't see any comparison with The Sex Pistols to be honest.

Pittman owned that song. I thought it sucked because Axl's voice sucked in 2001, I might be open for a Silkworms comeback now that Axl has his chops back.

Oh my god, I just listened to the song again.

"Pussy full of maggots, isn't that absurd!
What can I do with a bitch like you!"

 rofl

Pitman, oh, sweet Pitman, it's glorious.

"Fucking little schemer got yourself a broken heart
Parasitic demons sucking acid through your heart"

Seriously, what was he taking when he wrote that?

And did he use a thesaurus to write a death metal song?

I can just imagine the first time Pitman showed this to Axl.

Axl: "Oh yeah...this is JUST like a Nine Inch Nails song! Awesome!"

Then everyone hates it and Axl kicks Pitman's ass for betraying him.  rofl

Terrible is too kind a word for this song. Worst.thing.ever.

Dizzy - 'I really like the vocals you used for Down on the Farm, pleeeease do them again.'

Axl - 'Only if I can say that you and that other guy, whats his name again? wrote the song so I dont have to take the blame'

Slash at home watching on TV - 'Heh heh'.

First, Silkworms shits all over Rhiad. Rhiad is easily not the only the worst new-GN'R out there, but it's the only one I don't like at all. One of the very few GN'R songs that have no up side, Rhiad. I have no idea why RATB is gaining this almost cult following in the GN'R fan world. Guys with signs like 'Play RHIAD!', makes me want to bring signs that say 'For The Love of God DON'T!' If any forgotten new-GN'R song deserves play, it's Oh My God. Take some of the Bizkit out of it, it's got great lyrics, good rhythm, and a perfect GN'R pace.

As for Silkworms, I really like the song. I don't love it. I like it. But in comparison to the other new songs we've heard, it's definitely on the B-side list.

Personally I don't think we'll ever hear a studio cut of this. This was Axl in his experimental stage, and despite how hard Silkworms rocks, one has to wonder, if you like Silkworms, why not My World? I hate My World.

Silkworms to me has always come across as a mysterious song. It's not meant to make a whole lotta sense. When I listen to Silkworms, I think 'this sounds like a song that would be played over the end credits of a Rob Zombie horror flick'. It has that kind of vibe.
