On Prince's Musicology tour, a copy of the album was included with the ticket. I believe these sales counted in SoundScan too.

Should Axl do the same with CD? It'd be a great way to get the word out there, IMO.

It would be a good idea... and it'll force people who don't want the album, but want to see them live into getting the album anyway. rofl

Yeah, I still have about 3 of those Musicology CD's laying around unopened.  I am not 100% sure, but I think they changed the "rules" on that after Prince did it, and it would no longer count toward album sales.

anyway, ticket sales are slow enough without the added burden of chinese democracy on them. not worth the effort really.

They counted at first but then Billboard made some rule about no one being able to do that again.

Not sure why, but thats the deal now.

Yep. The guy worked around the system, so they altered the rules to block anyone else from doing it.
