I guess a pub would be a good meeting place before the show?

I think so...? Might as well get GOOD drinks relatively cheaply BEFORE the show than AVERAGE drinks expensively AT the show.
I can't personally vouch for Maggie Moore's, Wharf Rat, or Max's because I haven't been in them; I've only seen them from the outside while on my way to baseball games or the Inner Harbor.? They're all close to the arena.? Wharf Rat looks the coolest from the outside.??
Are there any other locals going to this show who can vouch for one or more of these places??? If not, I would be happy to go on a scouting mission sometime before November 13th.? ?

Walking distance from the venue would be optimal...

Do you guys have any plans to meet before the show?
Also, we have some time before we leave the day after the show, any sights we should check out?
/jarmo
Inner Harbor is really nice and if you like seafood they have some restaurants there that are not to be missed. I think it was something like the Rusty Scupper (name sounds horrible, I know!) that I went to down there, cost me a pretty penny for the food but oh was it good! You cannot leave the area without sampling the crab cakes, that is for sure!

It's Guns N' Roses weekend on 98 Rock in Baltimore. When you hear GNR, call 410-467-ROCK(7625) and try to win a pair of tickets.
I'm not sure how tickets are selling, but this promo (and others to come from both 98 Rock and DC101 between now and Nov. 13th) ought to help pique local interest.
On Sunday a friend and I are gonna scout for a pub close to the arena that'll be good to meet at before and/or after the show.

Anybody here need a ticket for GA in Baltimore? It might not even be sold out - but I have an extra. I'd love to sell it to someone who's on the board - at my cost. PM me.

Called Ticketmaster in Baltimore, to see when the 39.50 lower level seats would be made available, the lady said that they were only selling those for wheelchair accessibility. I then asked her how the concert is selling she said they are still alot of seats available, I then asked if less then 50% were sold, she said she couldn't give out then info

Results of scouting mission
The arena is located at 201 W. Baltimore St., which is 5-6 blocks from Baltimore's vaunted Inner Harbor.
For
pre-concert
meeting:
Closest to -- actually, visible from -- the arena at 100 Hopkins Place is the Hopkins Bar and Grill, located in the Days Inn hotel. It is small and cozy and has the hotel-standard selection of domestic draft beers (Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light, Miller Light, Michelob Ultra) on tap and "imported" beers ("Sam Adams" - not an import but priced like one, "Yuengling" - same, Heinekin, Amstel Light) in bottles. I recommend this bar primarily for proximity's sake.
One block further at 206 W. Pratt St. is the Wharf Rat, which stands next to and in complete contrast to a cheesy sports bar that we did not even bother to enter due to said cheesiness. LOL. Wharf Rat is big and airy with creaky wooden floors and chairs to match, plus a big-screen TV -- my kind of pub.
Best of all, they have a whole bunch of mostly English-style beers that they brew right on the premises, all of which are priced fairly (considering that this is the overpriced tourist area of the city) at $3.75. I had a blonde and my friend had a redhead (meaning ales, not other bar patrons
); both were excellent. I highly recommend this bar and plan to be there between 6pm - 7pm the night of the show. (I'm not one of those "stand in line for hours before the show" people; plus, I will be coming from work; so, I plan to get a nice buzz going and get to my seat when the show starts at 8pm.)
For
after-concert
meeting:
Hopkins normally closes at 11pm, but will stay open later if they get enough business (unlikely on a Monday night, even with the concert going on, because the concert will run later than 11pm).
Wharf Rat doesn't have a set closing time; they generally close once they get slow, but they may stay open late the night of the concert if they know that they will get a lot of business after
(hint, hint, go there before the show and tell them you'll be back after
)
.
Beyond these two places, there are all kinds of overpriced tourist traps at the Inner Harbor that stay open until 2am, the best of which, IMO, is Tir na nOg Irish Bar & Grill, if only because their large selection of import beers (including, but not limited to, Bass, Newcastle, Harp, and Guinness)
on tap
and their very tasty shepherd's pie are worth paying more for.
Tir na nOg is located 5-6 blocks from the arena in the Pratt Street Pavilion. Beyond that, there are a Hard Rock Cafe; an ESPN Zone; and Baltimore's biggest meat market, Power Plant Live!, a collection of bars/clubs under one roof; 7-9 blocks from the arena.
I took pictures of the arena, Hopkins, Wharf Rat, a bunch of places in Federal Hill (which I
highly
recommend if you've got some time to check them out) that I'm sending to Snapfish to get developed tomorrow. I hope to get them posted somewhere on the WWW within the next 5-10 days.
I didn't take many pictures of the Inner Harbor because there are plenty to be found on the WWW already, plus I am anti-tourist-traps (in case you couldn't tell already
). Why pay more for less, unless it's GNR. LOL.

I am from baltimore...im coming home form college in Delaware for the show... I will be lining up around 8am or earlier for the show to try and get front row. I am also interested in hanging with some fellow board members there are so many places to meet up for drinks and what not it all depends on how far people want to walk. Theres fed hill, fells point " great food and bars" and thhen there is also the actual innner harbor which is very close. There are also some small food shops around the arena such as california tortilla, mcdonald etc. The days in is literally a minute walk from the arena and can be a meeting place. Again I will be in line by 8 am and would love to meet fellow fans of the best band around

There are so many good places to choose from to meet up and hang out. I am down for any one depending on how long the line to get in gets... hoping for front row center:)

I have a friend who got home after a five hour drive from Stockholm, took a shower and went straight to work.

I found Wharf Rat's web site (
http://www.thewharfrat.com/
) as well as a review of Maggie Moore's Irish Pub, which is 2-3 blocks west of the arena (
http://www.citypaper.com/eat/review.asp?rid=10110
).
For some reason my friend and I didn't pass Maggie Moore's or the other pub that was mentioned, Mick O'Shea's, on our quick-tour... We started a couple blocks north of the arena, walked all the way around it, then went south towards the harbor, and then went east and back north. We did see a California Tortilla; a McDonald's; a couple of coffee shoppes; the Radisson hotel; and the Wyndham hotel (where I'll be staying the night of the concert -- it houses an expen$ive steak house called Shula's).
I'm thinking Wharf Rat, but I'm open to wherever most folks wanna go...
