2220 Colorado Ave.
Santa Monica, 90404
(310) 449-1244

Why doesn't someone just call or go to this place and ask them if it was being played yesterday (anyone working there and answering phones would've heard it).

if we get a few people to call, we can independently verify it.

Number is disconnected.

Hmmm...well, I did get it from MYGNR....anyway, if MRVICS could video tape the recording on his phone again and NOT talk....it would be much easier to determine.......if that's cool with you MRVICS.... peace

Geffen is owned by Universal, dummy.  Roll Eyes  hihi

universal has nothing to do with GNR.
they are not involved with GNR decision making.
even bumblefoot had to listen to the songs with earphones, while sitting in a wault, and some "out of the loop" universal guy will be blasting them through an open window...

If that's what you think, then you need to sharpen up your GN'R knowledge.

Universal owns Geffen. Axl said in the bootleg from the other night, "I don't like throwing my money away. I know Universal is hoping they didn't." So even if you don't believe me, you can believe Axl.

Or just go to Geffen.com and notice the Universal logo.  ok

Being a godzilla fan, I love his recent metalic screeches but not that 'rasp' developed by the overuse of throat during UYI tour.

Just that one line was higher.? Not flat-sounding as he often does live.

well I think the flat-sounding is due to the recording.

So the falsetto intro on better was still there?

Intro? ?If you read my original post, you'd know that I started listening from the last third of that song so I can only confirm that the outro seemed the same from what we've all heard. ?At this point, though, I was walked across the street a few times in an effort to find the best spot to listen from so I missed some of Better and some of CD, since I ran back to the DMV looking for a pen to take notes since my cell phone had died.

(I have a feeling I'm going to be repeating myself a hell of a lot... Roll Eyes

Listen to Madagascar Budapest 06, best version EVER. Axl goes very hight on the last verse and there's also a reverb on his voice "in the storm.... reverb....in the stOOOooormmm" hard to explain it, but it blew me away when i heard it.

Listen at the end when Axl runs near of Richard:? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30Z1YDdFKVM
(4:49 to 5:05) ----> Axl sings this verse higher.

mrvics, is it what you heard?

Absolutely not what I heard yesterday.  You're right, he does sing the end a little different and higher but there are NO back up vocals there, for one, so absolutely not.

Go back and read the first post again. He said the MLK stuff is in there or the "quotes" as you call them. He did talk about more than just Axl's voice the whole time.? And don't you think they would be playing Madagascar live, the way it will probably be on the album?? What would be the point in playing it any different than that?? So do you really think it sounded like the one from RIO 2001??

sorry, but by the time I read the other 24 pages, I forgot everything he mentioned in the first post.
but the madagascar thing was just an examle.
I dont think the riff they play live is 100% what it's is in the studio.
also the solos change all the time.
arent there any other chris pittman effects in other songs?
also what does the madagascar intro sound like?! we all(well not all, but some) expected to hear orchestra there...
etc etc

I think hes full of bs.
also why does he talk while recording?!
he should have known it will be a crappy recording, and him ranting aint helping.

Alright, Mr Lucky, you are going to be the first one I call out when I'm proven right, either by the actual album or otherwise.  And do us a favor, mark my words in my first post.

I didn't hear any orchestra at all in any of the songs.   The intro to Maddy was hard to make out becaues it just sounded too low...so with that said, all I can say is that the intro to that song was quiet, nothing heavy, so was the intro to The Blues (piano probably).  I think pitman had some added effects at the end of Maddy but it was hard to tell guitar or keyboards...there was traffic flying right in front of me, between myself and the balcony from which the music was playing.

Also, dont forget that I said that the end to Madagascar and The Blues were pretty much identical, just for that final closing sound effect.

HELLO!!!??......so who else listened to this "studio clip" of the blues?......I want some feedback.....I have the audio and video but I am still not sure..... Undecided
yeah ive heard but cant really make a judgement on it.? I guess hes not lying? would be my opinion at this point.

Thing is...it is way too shady of a recording.....it's like a ghost or UFO caught on camera.....I mean, why didn't he record more and then show us......and if that is all he was able to record, why not record AXL'S VOCALS ONLY..?...like at the END of the song...if I hear that part, I can tell you right away if it is fake or real...... confused

I mentioned the end of two of the songs that made it clear to me that they were studio.  READ MY ORIGINAL POST.

ok that was weird, the first half cant even hear any music lol then he repeats himself saying The blues, exactly same tone of voice. then i hear axl very smooth but i admit i havent heard every single boot of blues. and then right at the end he says the blues again same tone of voice. why vic?

Here we go again.   What you saw was a 60 video of a 25 second video automatically repeating itself.  Me talking was recorded while I was outside Geffen.  Get it?

Well shit....found this at MYGNR...HOPE IT'S OK..

I didn't read through all 36 pages, so not sure if this has been posted before. I did some Googling and found that the building on the corner of Colorado Ave. and Coverfield Boulevard is currently 100% leased to Universal Music Group. This information was taken from the following link:

http://www.bigbluebus.com/placestogo/place...ogocategoryid=3

Arboretum
2220 Colorado Ave.
Santa Monica, 90404
(310) 449-1244
The magnificent Arboretum is a privately leased office complex at the corner of Colorado Ave. and Cloverfield Boulevard and is a prime example of the resurgence and prominence of Santa Monica as a thriving business community. It is managed by the Arboretum Management Co. and is currently 100% leased to Universal Music Group. There are no public facilities.

GREAT!
This puts an end to this lame episode.
the author of the rumor should be punished.

Geffen is owned by Universal, dummy.? Roll Eyes? hihi

Yeah, dummy.

There's a huge Univeral globe to the left from where I was standing.  And above the door right in front of me.....ah fuck it, just read my original post.

you really dont have to bother...
you cant be proven wrong.
you said all the things anyone with an IQ over 15 would know.

Madagascar has vocals. better has vocals also.
Axl is singing.
madagascar has quotes, in "the blues" axl is singing really high notes... no shit!
last third of better has a solo. solo is the same as we've already heard. obviously! That's what theyve been playing on the tour.
and even if the solo is slightly diferent you can always say,... well I was listening from the outside..

you are in a win win situation. it's not like you came with something revolutionary... like an extra lyrics line, or a new song,...
but you came with the ordinary stuff, made a few educated guesses, and even if you turn out to be full of crap (and by some miracle, Axl isnt the one singing the backups in madagascar), you will always be able to say...
well I was outside, runing around a palm tree, and a dog just happened to bark.

so I dont see the point in you proving anything to me.
I can make a bunch of assumptions, and I bet I'd guess a whole bunch of things that will actually happen on the album, and yet I havent heard it.

no1, guitar solo in madagascar during mlk speech will be higher in the mix
no2, Axl is using his soft voice for madagascar (I've never heard it like that in any live recording)
no3, during better Axl uses his raspy voice more than ever so far
etc, etc
and I'm not even trying.

and even if you are telling the truth, its a lot more possible that it was just a live recording or whatever, like rar, rir3, or the inland show, and you just dont know enough to difernentiate a live/studio recording.

I just read you're ORIGINAL post again MRVIC.....I believe you......what you said is very accurate in terms of how I expect Axl's voice to sound and the way he sings those songs....considering the different ways he sang them live in 01' and early 02' as opposed to now....meaning he wanted them to sound like the studio version a few years ago but he no longer does that.....just wish you had a better recording but you did what you could.... peace

Aren't you the one who guessed there would be orchestra in these songs?  Well there wsa none.

Me saying that when Axl sings "...were only memories" in The Blues is the HIGHEST note he hits in that song is pretty damn specific AND that he sings it higher than he ever has live.    That alone will prove me right.  So will the ending effects to Maddy and The Blues and Axl on the high pitched back up vocals at the end of Maddy.   I'm not giving myself and room fro maybes or grey area here, I'm 100% certain on these details I'm giving you.
