March 26th, 1985 - A flyer for a show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles says "L.A Guns and Hollywood Rose presents the band Guns N' Roses". The band's line-up is: Axl, Izzy, Tracii Guns, Ole Beich and Rob Gardner.
The band calls themselves Guns N' Roses (they rejected the names Heads Of Amazon and AIDS).

Later Duff joins the band and the lineup looks like this:

W. Axl Rose (vocals)
Izzy Stradlin (guitar)
Tracii Guns (guitar)
Duff McKagan (bass)
Rob Gardner (drums)

June 6th, 1985 - The GN'R lineup of:
W. Axl Rose (vocals)
Slash (lead guitars)
Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitar)
Duff McKagan (bass)
Steven Adler (drums)

plays at the Troubadour in Hollywood, CA."A Rock N Roll Bash Where Everyones Smashed"

not to start a fight but doesn't this prove then that Axl and Izzy are really the backbone of GNR?

So those who say GNR isn't GNR without Slash now can realize that he was never an original member.

Right ok Because Ole Beich and Rob Gardner contributed to the kick ass songs on Appettite.. and Tracii Guns wrote the intro to SCOM & PC ..

Come on, get real. Just because Tracii Guns was in the (for a few weeks) band before Slash doesn't mean Appettite & UYI would have been the same albums it was with him writing the solo's..

I am not talking about music wise.

I am just saying that the original GNR band did NOT include Slash and this is proof.

GNR name was decided upon way before Slash joined so Axl has EVERY right to keep GNR name.

axl already has the right cuz he purchased the name off of Geffen/Interscope back in the early 90's that and everybody else quit leaving only Axl...it doesn't mean that the other guys weren't huge contributers to the success of GnR, between 5 and 8 guys (depending how you look at it) made the band famous and gave them their credibility....only one (or 2) are left

Jimmy Page started Zepplin and Nikki Sixx started Motley Crue....should those two guys go out and tour as their respective bands without the others....hells no!!!

yes he has the right...but should he? ....this is rapidly becoming a dead horse hihi

You say this like it's brand new information ?Roll Eyes Like it was some hidden secret.

Ole Beich & Rob Gardner played in the band for a few weeks and that was it, they probably didn't even write anythink for GnR. It's not like the band was established at the time, they had thought of the name and that's all.

Slash, Izzy, Duff, Steven and Axl, when they first joined that's when it became Guns N Roses.

Ole Beich was a Danish guitarist and bass player, born in the city of Esbjerg in 1955. In his younger years he became a local Rock'n'Roll icon with his Fender Telecaster, his good looks, his long blonde hair and his rock'n'roll attitudes. His own favorites were Rolling Stones, Ten Years After, Cactus, Led Zeppelin and Link Wray. He played both guitar and bass with several Danish bands before he decided to go to Los Angeles to explore the rock scene there. He became the original bassist of the band L.A. Guns and a founding member of Guns N' Roses. Singers Axl Rose and Michael Jagosz both had turns as lead vocalist for L.A. Guns during the time Ole Beich was in the band. Beich played a few Guns N' Roses shows in early 1985 before, unlike what many people believe, he himself decided to quit the band because he "couldn't stand the guts of some of the members", and he died in 1991, drowning in Sct. J?rgens lake in the center of Copenhagen, under uncertain circumstances.
He played on the L.A. Guns EP Collector's Edition No. 1.

From Wikipedia. All this is true.

I also live in Esbjerg, so it's kinda cool that Ole was from here Cheesy He died by driving in Sct. J?rgens lake in his car? nervous

EDIT:
Rob Gardner is a rock drummer who played in early versions of hard rock bands Guns N' Roses and L.A. Guns.

He played in both bands with Axl Rose and Tracii Guns. He also played in L.A. Guns with Michael Jagosz, who replaced Axl Rose in L.A. Guns. He played on the L.A. Guns EP Collector's Edition No. 1.

He was replaced in Guns N' Roses by Steven Adler in 1985.

Also from Wikipedia.

It depends how you looks at it.. I dont prefer Ole and Rob as original members of Guns n' Roses. "L.A Guns and Hollywood Rose presents the band Guns N' Roses". I think the original line-up is the AFD group, they did all the work and songs and hit the big time. They are the original Gn'R to me.
