Axl-Izzy-Slash-Duff-Steven!

« on: September 26, 2006, 04:45:51 AM »

******

PS: Little warning: don't take what you are about to read too seriously.? ok  ok ok
Please look at it as a "well-humoured pissed-off criticism"? Grin Grin Grin Grin
Having warned you guys, let me unleash it...

I just listened to Nightrain from the KROQ live thing and... it is incredible. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
How can one guy DARE to play key-fuckin-boards on Nightrain?? Huh? Huh Huh Huh
Oh my god, this is one of the best songs ever written in the world... this guy Dizzy should show some respect!  yes yes yes
This is a GUITAR song, for Axl's sake!? ? Grin Grin Grin

And what about that "Steve-Vai" "fretless" or whatever solo?? crying crying crying crying
People should go to jail for playing guitar like that!  Grin Grin Grin Grin
I know that someone in this band (Robin "Dracula" Finck or Richard "Izzy Clone" Fortus) knows how to play a decent solo for Nightrain. yes yes yes yes
I have listened to nice versions of Nightrain by this Guns n' Roses II guys.  yes yes yes
But that solo...? drool drool drool
That was sad! no no no

Having said that, I can only tell you guys that Axl Rose is the best singer ever in my book and that I'd watch him anytime/anywhere even if he was playing church songs with his Indiana childhood neighbors!? yes yes yes yes
Actually that would be nice...  rofl rofl rofl rofl

Luciano

Ron owns that when he breaks out the fretless for the solo.

luciano, I can understand what you're talkin' about, beer. I was startin' to believe that there were nobody hardrocker-oldschool guy here.
nightrain is a dirty guitar song and I think that Fink or Fortus (to me the best of the three guitar players, I saw them at lisboa, and this guy is amazing!!!) could do it better than Thal, I don't like Thal vary much. Sorry guys, but Guns is not a place for guitar players like Vay, Satriani, Bucketshithead (i hate when this fuckin' guy was in this Axl band) or Thal.

Yea in a way they are all lead players.  Robin does get a good bit more then the other 2, probably because he has the best stage charisma and he's been there the longest and hes the natural lead guitarist out of the 3.   but really, all 3 guitar players get their chance to shine.  I love how they each get a solo in November Rain.

In my listening I've always gravitated towared Fortus as the best lead player in the band.

What's this about Thal playing fretless guitar on Nighttrain? Is there video of this? That sounds wild.

well on the illusions tour he played the tamborune during nightrain.  but for some songs in the 2000 era he's added keyboard parts.  Its so Easy, Sweet Child of Mine, Nightrain...
