does anyone close to the guns n roses camp know/heard any rumors about what the 1st music video will be? e.g. a montage of the recent live shows or whatever else they have in mind

Sorry, had to quote Team America:

The hours approaching, just give it your best
You got to reach your prime.
That?s when you need to put yourself to the test,
And show us a passage of time,
Were going to need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)

Sure a lot of things happing at once,
With mind, everyone what?s going on (what?s going on?)
And when every shot you show a little improvement
Just Show it or it will take to long
that?s called a montage (montage)
Oh we want montage (montage)

And anything that we want to know, from just a beginner to a pro,
You want a montage (montage)
even rocky had a montage (montage)

(Montage?montage)

Anything that we want to know, from just a beginner to a pro,
You need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)

Always fade out in a montage,
If you fade out, it seem like more time
Has passed in a montage,
Montage

That is a great song from Team America.  But here is my question...If they don't do a montage of their live concerts, what will they do in regards to buckethead?  If he is on the album it would be kinda shitty for him not to be in the videos.  It would be like them redoing a video of Paradise City without Slash.   Personally I don't want him to associated with GnR anymore, because he is a freak.  But he is a damn good guitar player.

Gilby took Izzys places is music videos fine and wanted to be there.

And since not many know who Buckethead is and less people again remember him being in GnR, I don't think it will make a difference.

Do people watch videos anymore. Where do they show them. They seem to have the VMAs every year, but I always wonder when they're on.

I dont think a video would be relevant, MTV doesnt show them anymore, VH1 isnt really all about the videos either.

You say videos are not relevant anymore? Let me ask you this... how many of you did NOT watched the latest Shakira video (Hips Don't Lie) yet? Wink

This is a serious question. Why does anyone think there's going to be a video (and I'm not going to get into the whole 14 year wait for CD). But seriously, are we just asuming there's going to be one. Granted, I'm sure there will be a single, but has there been any public statement that GnR will do a video, too (other than the DVD, which isn't related).

I think it's just an assumption, and a safe on IMO.

trl is fast becoming a joke, they show 10 seconds of a video, then 1 min. talking, and 2 min. of adverts

I think youtube and other sites will be the place for a video to spread and become popular, the only ones on TV is the VH1 top 20 countdown, MTV2 Headbangers Ball, and MTV from 8-9 in the morning (which is gay time considering everyone goes to work and school hours before).

There's this thing called YouTube sweeping the nation. It shows videos, TV shows, even internet-only sitcoms and series. You should check it out.  yes

why be a dick about it. I don't think people go to youtube to specifically check out the next new video. I don't think it's a first stop like MTV used to be.

I"m referring to actual music videos, not concert bootlegs.

Catcher In The Rye

« Reply #17 on: September 25, 2006, 09:41:13 PM »

Not to mention youtube is such a hassle, like to see a video you have to trudge through 30 videos of wannabe show offs trying to play the guitar solo, 30 vids of people dancing around to the music, a few vids with absolutely nothing to do with your search (you type in Nov. Rain, you'll get some video of rain), and the low quality versions of the songs videos that are hardly watchable.

I'm not complaining but before it becoms 'all that' it needs some organization, like sections for people and sections for band concert footage and videos, no 2 clips of crap either.

If you type in the right words, Youtube is not a hassle. It's 10 times easier then doing ur average google search for something.
