it was right before the encore. when they were saying thank you & goodnight before they came back out. he missed the stair & fell right off. he landed so hard, he had to be helped off by a stage hand.

I think someone needs to buy that LA TImes reviewer a new watch, GNR didn't go onstage at 1AM, unless she was talking Central Standard time as it was 1AM here in MN when they hit the stage.

Yeah, that was a pretty positive review. IMO, the show went about as well as it could be. Axl was on fire, as were the band, especially Robin, he tore it up. Some really great performances...

I just watched the Inland Invasion Broadcast...AMAZING..All songs and guitars were great!!! Besides Madagascar solo over the samples...

In my opinion the Ritchard's solo over the samples was really poor...

Buckethead used to own that particular solo and along with Axl's voice and lyrics it was a great song....
Madagascar was my favorite new song until now...What is this shit Ritchard is playing!!

Don't get me wrong i love Ritchard's job on the other songs....Just He fucking ruins Madagascar's Magic... rant

same here. It's like why fucking bother listening to the band if you're going to bash the "new" members (most of which have been around longer than the "originals" at this point).
It's not like Slash didn't have a fucking bad night. It's not like he didn't record a bad solo on an album.

Make up your mind.  If you're going to acknowledge the fact that musicians have bad nights, then why are you telling GNROSAS to shut his mouth about the Inland Invasion Madagascar solo? Nobody is bashing anyone.  Try reading the initial post thoroughly (a few times, as apparently once wasn't enough) until you grasp what he's saying.  Then reply.

Likewise for you.  It was criticism and a decent comparison.  Because you stopped reading, you missed the point of the post.  Do you read the first page of a story and then dismiss the rest of the text?

I like his solo. The RIR3 Bucket solo is still the best, but IMO, Richard's one is the 2nd best. I can't see why it ruined the song at all, since it's nothing far from what Bucket did by that time (and could be very well the SAME solo Bucket played on the studio version).

the clearest and best madagascar bucket solo i've heard was at the audio bootleg from London, UK 02...
Miles more melodic & significant than the current one...

To my ears it starts like bucket's and then it goes quite different but not good..

I dunno. I think he does pretty cool. Bucket had a fantastic solo (most of the time). RIR 3, his solo was the best thing since sliced bread, but thereafter, it was borderline non-melodic. Sometimes it just seemed like random notes. IMO, it's a hard song to write a solo too. It's so epic, and with that mid-section and everything that's going on, you really need a soulful, stand-out solo, Richard's is pretty good...
