Yes, absolutely. I noticed that too.
Anyway overall, I thing RAR is still the best broadcast (sound and video quality).

I would say Download was the best show too.? Turned up on time, had technical issues to deal with and did so.? Had walked off stage a couple of times adding to the atmosphere, Izzy making an apperarence too.? Not to mention playing at a venue that had bad Karma for GnR and over coming those memouries that this venue held for him (and Izzy).? Its true to say he didn't know about the deaths at the time, but I would be very suprised if memouries of that day in 88 didn't resurface this time out at Donnington.
For me this performance, gave the finger to all those wanting Axl to fall flat on his face, he had plenty of reasons to fuck off, but worked through them and kicked ass.
Oh and he made a veiled mention of my homeland, the Isle of Wight by saying "this is the Isle of Wrong" acknowledging the Isle of Wight festival was taking place on the same day.? If only he'd do the Isle of Wight.....

Best show of this tour would have to be the second Oslo gig.
That was - as a friend of mine said who joine me up there - "fuckin' razorsharp!"
Ofcourse I could be biased (as I was there) but I was also in Budapest and at Roskilde and have 4-5 shows on boot.
All in all, this band is boiling hot and on the mark. And Axl? Better than ever. Better than ANYONE out there. It's incredible.
Of the last tour - if this one is included - the whole "emotion" and "feel" and Axl HIMSELF - well, Rio III is a modern day classic. You all wait.. Rolling Stone is going to include that show as one of the best from 2000-2010, when they make their decade live show list.

I agree that this show was awesome!! The band looked and sounded great... Axl's voice was SPOT ON the whole show... Rocket Queen!!! And Madagascar sounded really good too, one of the better performances I've heard...

Good show I think each show has it's own beauty.
Will this be the last show of this setlist? I haven't experienced it yet.
No, there will be many, many, many more shows with this setlist, don't you worry about that. I don't think much will change until CD is out or is very close to coming out. Same setlist or not, I can't wait to see them if they are still coming to Cleveland in November!!

Hammersmith and the first Wembley show were stormers for me. Hammersmith because I was at the front and managed to touch Robin and Bumblefoot, plus strum Bumblefoot's guitar during 'Paradise City'. Wembley because of the sheer quality of the set and the fact that no-one blinked when the house lights came up and carried on playing.
The second Wembley show was writing itself into the record books before Axl unfortunately got sick, and thus entered the record books for the wrong reasons.
I cannot wait for Axl to bring the boys back to the UK!

man, the hell with the broadcast comments! "it was too fixated on Axl" "the camera work sucked"
who cares!!!! Musically this is definitely one of their best shows this year! only topped, and I say this pretty much based on the setlist and excitement from the crowd, by May 12th Hammerstein Ballroom...They played TWAT, BETTER & IRS fot the first time, ChiDem, Axl's voice was PERFECT! so that's why that's the best show of '06 so far. But last night's really showed how every band member has improved, with their solo playing and as a band. And their stage presence has gone a mile up since the webcast of RIR 5 ......so I'd rank the first three:
1.May 12th Hammerstein
2.Inland Invasion
3.July 29th Wembley

Rock Am Ring is definitely one of the best as far as I know but Saturday's Vegas show was just insane.. i've never heard Axl sound better and he was even a little sick! i was in a similar spot for sunday's show and the vocals weren't as good...

who agreeds with me that this is the best concert of the new gnr band. Axls Voice was the best tonigth.
It'd be nice if you would put a date up for the "best show"
Secondly, check out the rest of the 2006 shows first.

I don't think anyone here is justified in making that call, unless one of us has gone to every single show. It's so much better Live than at home on the computer, or YouTube...

Last night's gig was great.
Call me crazy, but in my opinion RIR 5 was far better - both the broadcast and the concert itself.
Your crazy.

It was a great gig indeed. I won't say it was the best because I haven't seen them all but I say it was great.
Knowing that it is at least a hundred times better to see a gig in the front row then it is to see it on webcast, congratulations to anyone who really was there!

Rock in Rio 3 gets my vote, just a tremendously energetic and exciting performance - but the first Hammerstein show this year in NY was so damn memorable too.

Yeah, I thought also that they were not exactly in the best shape while they were in Helsinki, but it was still a hell of a performance when you saw it in the front rows!

yeah i understand that... it kicked major ass yeah, but it was something special about axl in oslo... he made loads of jokes about the sweden incident and talked a lot and was happy all the time... the setlist on show 1 was massive (for that part of the tour...)
