Here Today...

« on: September 22, 2006, 04:04:02 PM »

Seriously, I am very afraid of him. It gives me the creeps just watching him. 0_0 Anyone feel the same as I do? Technically, he is an amazing guitarist (though I prefer Bumblefoot actually) but his Michael Meyers-mask gives me nightmares. ^^

That aside, anyone caring to recommend a good Buckethead track to get me started and see if I can learn to like him.

Take care!

I'll agree, he is amazing- but yeah he does scare the shit out of me sometimes.
Anyone seen that Guitar World sample video? He talks using some creepy mask the whole time, and you can't even understand him.
Here, I've found it actually: http://youtube.com/watch?v=86DEKFissl4
Creepy eh?

All instrumental, as usual. But one of his best easily. He closed the show with that and a Hendrix jam when I saw him.

I had to listen to Nottingham Lace over and over all the way from Solonas to San Diego. It's on the "Enter the Chicken" CD

Nottingham Lace is FUCKING AMAZING.

Just defies all logic to think one could remember all those notes, let alone play them.

nottingham lace? what that about?

The guy is a complete guitar playing God - genius.

As for the name - I was born in Nottingham in the UK and it is well known for the Lace industry....well Lace and Robin Hood. We have a Lace Market and all sorts of crazy stuff like that.

Maybe Bucket was getting back into his English Geography - who knows.

You can download a whole bunch of Buckethead shows from archive.org

In lossless too Smiley

Since he allows taping at his shows, he's got quite a few on there.

http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=collection%3Aetree%20AND%20%2Fmetadata%2Fcreator%3A%22Buckethead%22

The site is running very slow right now, so I can't grab you a direct link. But if you go to archive.org and then to Live Music Archive, you'll see him as one of the artists.

Some great shows on there, and more and more get added from his 06' tour.

I don't I was just hypothesising

Just that well how many places are there called Nottingham that have such connections??

Could all be a random coincidence.....prob is.
If he has never been - he should! A set at Rock City would go down nice or even better, Assembly Rooms Derby? ok
