Brad Pitt as an actor

I think Brad Pitt is really underrated. The ending of "Se7en" is raw, touching stuff. I mean, the first time I saw that (SPOILERS AHEAD!), it was pretty powerful, and it still is. He really got that down pat. Then I saw him in a film with Anthony Hopkins which was also quite good. But really he's fallen into a trap recently with easy roles, I'm hoping some of his upcoming films are going to challenge him as an actor.

He's often just ranked as a "celebrity" or pretty boy actor, but I think he's a pretty damn good actor. He was also kickass in Fight Club!

Anyone else think he's underrated as an actor? If not, go watch Se7en!

I'm a big fan of the movie Interview with the Vampire and he played an awesome role in that.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Johnny Depp offered the role of Lestat(Tom Cruise's character) but turned it down?

I don't know about that, PakistaniAutocracy is the Cruise expert. 

I like him most in "Meet Joe Black" and "Fight Club".

12 monkeys, seven, fight club...I don't think there are that many people who refuse to give him a decent amount of credit?

His ability to pull off various versions of the "complete lunatic with lots of charisma"-thing is soo very impressing.

Yes, he was offered the part. Tom Boy did well though!

Brad Pitt is a great actor but I am not sure he is underrated, he gets great roles in many blockbuster films.  Barely ever a year goes by without seeing him in some pretty big hit.

Se7en was also one of my favs though.  That movie is just insane.  If you haven't seen it, rent it immediately.

Yeah, but there's a difference between getting parts and being a celebrity and being respected as an actor.

I guess if he was uglier he would be taken more seriously, what a shame to have been blessed with such drop dead good looks!

I think he's a good actor, much more talented than the other Hollywood pinup boys that preceeded him (Rob Lowe for instance.)

Great actor, and he always picked his movies really well...he never was the conventional hero, a good guy that wins inthe end, his caracters were very complex.

  And the guy has tons of charisma! That's more important than good looks, because charisma gets you hetero guys fans too, not only drooling females     The man just has  "cool" written all over him

He is an excellent actor......he ain't DeNiro or Pachino just yet, but he is up there.
