For anyone who doesn't know, this coming Monday(September, 25th) on ESPN's Monday Night Football, Greenday and U2 will be performing before the game at the New Orleans Superdome. The performances will be shown live on  ESPN?s Monday Night Countdown pre-game show which airs between 7:00pm-8:30pm EDT.  It will be the first event in the Superdome since Hurricane Katrina. Greenday will open the show with their song Wake Me Up When September Ends and then be joined on stage by U2, where the two bands will perform a cover of The Skids  song The Saints are Coming. After that U2 will close the "opening ceremonies" with Beautiful Day.  The following are some links with more info on the event.

Tell them to hurry it up and get back to the studio with Rubin.

Tonight's performance will mark U2's  30th anniversary of the first time the met as a band.  headbanger

....Paul Hewson(Bono), Dave Evans(the Edge), Dick Evans(the Edge's brother), Adam Clayton, Peter Martin and Ivan McCormick along wiht Larry Mullen  met for the first time at Larry's parents house on 60 Rosemount Avenue Dublin. They discussed music and attempted to play a few songs in the Kitchen which attracted a group of female admirers from the houses nearby. When they refused to leave, they are hosed away by an irate Larry. The date was September 25, 1976.

That's fucking cool!  Cool
