Not really. Maybe regional but not national. Almost all rock stations in the US do this. They all will set a time for an "exclusive announcement" or something. Most of them don't say who it's for ahead of time though, it's cool that this station is doing that.

if they come to vancouver GOOD LUCK getting Axl accepted into the city...
after the riot last year...
they should do an acoustic set at Queen Elizabeth Theatre or something....
pacific coliseum wouldn't come close to selling out...

With a successful album they could sell out the coliseum easily

But right now, the Queen E is probably the best bet, and man that would be awesome!!

GNR, right now, I am pretty sure are banned from playing in Vancouver.  It was part of the deal hammered in lieu of the 2002 incident.

I don't know if this is 100% accurate, but this is what I was told.

Unless this ban was put in place by the city government than it's highly unlikely to be true. Bans don't really work in Canada. People lobbied the government to ban 50 cent from playing in Toronto because of all the shootings linked to his movies shows and music, and he still got in.
