When I look outside
Sometimes I feel lonely
When I see all the happy people
Having fun and laughing
So I lock myself away
And sit through all the pain
And once again my only way of healing
Is you
[Chorus]
Oh, oh
You're awesome
Yeah, yeah
You're awesome
The way you look, the way you move
I'm not ashamed to say it dude
You're awesome
And you're cool
Oh, with me
Yeah, yeah, yeah
[guitar solo 1]
So yesterday
We had a fight
And now we ain't talkin'
I'm lying here
Thinking 'bout you again
And as I cry
My tears flow softly
Because I know without
Your awesomeness in my life
I'm nothing!
[huge guitar solo]
[Chorus repeat]
You, you, you
Oh baby you, you, you
Oh, you're awesome
And that's cool with me
Dude, you're awesome
Everything you do
The way you are
Is fine with me
'Cause you're awesome
And that's chill for me

I don't often write songs about people, they usually have to effect me in a very big way first. Brad Pitt has given me "tingly feelings" for years and I feel special when I see pictures of him, sometimes I don't know what these feelings are but they make my body do strange things, so I thought a song would help me express that. I just think he's awesome!
Here's a story I wrote about Brad a couple years ago, it was during my sexual awakening, and it inspired some of the lyrics to this song.

I don't like that word much. I prefer "open-minded."

(Inspired by the sounds of Justin Timberlake's new single, "Sexyback")
You think you're sexy now
Your leather jacket oh

You make me want it all

You know you've got it all
All inside those tighty-whites,
Those leather sticky pants
You make me touch-

[Slash guitar solo]
And I'm falling to pieces
Every time I see you now
You make me slither baby
I feel like you're an alien
That I'm loving, whoa
So come on set me free
I'm such a sucker for
Your train collection, they give me
They give me the blues

It will sound better (no pun intended) if Axl were to sing it.

Wow, you're right.
Forget Axl. It's about time for Dane Cook to make his singing debut.

If it's okay with the mods I'm going to start a thread wherein I shall post my own poetry. I figured it may be easier to make a thread rather than post a new one every time I write something new. My poetry is serious so this isn't a joke, I really do want to post stuff here for feedback.
I don't mean to clog up the forum, I am just interested in hearing some thoughts on my writing. I don't know if it's any good, I don't know much about poetry. I just write what I like.
I will start with a poem I wrote a little while ago:
Ab Imo Pectore
1.
She sat alone on the crimson shore
Even at such an early age
She had an understanding of faith
Her hair swayed softly at the touch
of the light breeze,
which coaxed her gently
into deep submission.
2.
Like shattered panes of glass
My memories have come to pass
And now lay in shards on the floor,
Impossible to restore;
And I can't afford
to replace the mirror anymore
I find myself asking what it's for
When all I ever do to it is ignore.
3.
Misery never fails to interject
When all that's left is bitterness
Because then like the green moss
It has a place to grow
Your pain is its bright orb.
Your smile is its killer.
4.
There doesn't seem to be much sense in you
In the way you feign accolade you bestow upon others
All the while your heart consumed by hate,
The way you curse and blame
By releasing all your rage.
But that's your way,
and I guess some things just never change.
Never change.

THE DISTANT SHORE
When I see her face,
And when I understand the pain,
And when there is nothing left to gain
Life evades me once again,
Flowing by to the other side
On the distant shore
Where it thrives
The moonlight bathing its lucidity
In an effervescent glow
Outlining its evil in ghostlike ways
Its deadly image coupled by devil howls
Taunting me
From the other side.
On the distant shore.
The place I shall never find.
URBAN SPRAWL
Silent regeneration of lost hope
Penetrates the urban sprawl,
Where the devils deal;
Their glistening jowels
Reflecting in the eyes of the new
Who have yet to see the rest.
Wolf-beasts roam in search of prey,
To them it is just a daily game.
They take the form of human flesh
Their arms outstretched
The cash is cold to the touch,
They take it with a smile.
The women are vampires
ready to thirst.
The frail do not last here.
But it's where she lives.
Twenty-four years, now.
Gotta wonder how.
But it's where the light is beginning to
pierce the gray sky.
It's where the demons are fleeing and
where the satyrs are disappearing
back into the corners of the polluted souls.
The mind is a silver bullet
The heart is the gun.

PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE
It started because of a bike
you know the type
with the two wheels
the little high seat.
He was a clown
I don't know why he wanted the damn thing
Frankly we always thought he was gay.
The other boys in school would taunt him
I didn't mind, though
Gay didn't make much of a difference to me
Because I thought his voice was interesting.
He lived with his mother till he was 34
His mother died in a fire in the kitchen.
She was cooking him a stew.
Guess she was too old to have seen the burning fondue.
It was a real pity
When that other kid
Took his bike,
Never thought he would have pulled that gun.
But you know when you live a life
of isolation
And everyone says things
Behind your back
There's always room for actions unsound.
It's safe to say
No one ever tried to take anything from him
again.
They came in a van
Pulled up fast
He dropped the gun
They grabbed him and he was gone.
He's locked away, now.
Of course, they moved him to one of those hospitals.
You know the kind
With the security guards.
That kid grew into a man
And now that man is without a bike
And booked for life.

KID WITH THE ICE CREAM CONE
He had a frail face;
One of those faces that
Looked kind of dim but
There was a flicker in his eye;
It betrayed whatever else was missing.
Every day he would stand at the bus stop
And wait for the ice cream man
Who made his rounds there
After school
Knowing the children would be there.
It was a warm Autumn afternoon
And I suppose perhaps all the other children
Were busy inside.
He stood alone on the sidewalk
With a dollar in his hand
Outstretched for the ice cream man.
But that day the ice cream man never showed up
He was too busy boinking the neighbor's daughter.
(They locked him away five years later;
It seems the daughter developed a guilt complex)
Instead that day another guy showed up
He was big and dark,
Not his skin of course (I'm no racist)
But his attitude or...
Something was just amiss.
And he stopped his car there by the side of the road
And walked up to the little boy with the dollar.
The stranger was wearing a long coat,
It was black.
He smiled at the kid with the buck,
And the kid - who was never too bright - smiled back.
The car engine started
And in a flash the pavement was clear.
Yep, it's safe to say
The kid didn't get any ice cream that day.
But twenty years later when he was all grown up
He found that dark, tall stranger again.
The stranger was living in a scum-filled apartment in the Bronx.
The kid had found a picture in the paper.
The stranger was a cop, he'd been shot on duty at 56. Front-page story.
He was a hero, in his flat recovering.
He had a real clean record.
Couldn't say the same for his conscience.
Well that little boy
Who was no longer little
Went to go pay a visit to his old friend.
And it's safe to say
The stranger didn't get any ice cream that day either.
But he wound up in the paper once again the next day -
Except this time it wasn't for taking a bullet on duty.
He hadn't earned any medals of bravery.
Instead, it was for taking a bullet somewhere unpleasant.
They couldn't really show it in the news
But everyone knew.
Well they locked away the ice cream boy
But people had sympathy for him.
Said he had been through so much.
Said the stranger had deserved it.
They told me he's getting out on bail in five days.
Frankly the whole story just makes me want some damn ice cream.

I don't like poetry.
I've done some lyrics but poetry is boring and a little gay
Since I don't know anything about poetry I'm not going to embarass myself with trying to analyse anything.
Why would anyone wait for the ice cream man at the bus stop?
Actually I like that one. "Kid with the ice cream cone".
