This radio host, Jay Osborne , on q107fm.ca ( calgary classic rock station)

Just said that a few weeks ago he received a copy of chinese democracy and hes not gunna say how he got it. And he doesnt know who its from.

But this station has always bashed GNR or made fun of how long its taking but this guy has always loved guns and is always just praising them every saturday morning show.
and he just said

" all im gunna say is it the greatest album i have ever heard! and it was definatly worth waiting for more then a decade. SO WORTH IT! everyone is going to fall in love with this album, make sure u you RESERVE YOUR COPIES RIGHT AWAY!"

At first I felt the same way, that he must've gotten the one floating around the torrents. But I also lean toward what you said too. From everything this guy said about the album and with his experience in the music industry, I would think he'd know the difference between the sources.

A few weeks ago?!! Come on.. The guy receives an early copy of a highly anticipated album, it turns out being, in his opinion, one of the greatest albums of all time, but it takes him a few weeks to mention this?? What, did it slip his mind. I call BS. I say he recv'd a CD of the leaks.  He may know the difference, but wants to make his listeners think "he's in the know"

Clearly a publicity whore.

Because he said it was the greatest album he'd ever heard, we can thoroughly discount the demos and live stuff from the equation. That material in that form isn't good enough to be considered as anything more than having potential, its not great.

I can't see some Canadian sausage jockey getting his hands on CD first. Normal bands do give away promo copies to DJ's, but this isn't a band that has a management company or markets itself at all.

Come on, I dig the new stuff. But there is no way in hell any sane person could equate a disc full of the demos and live tracks as being the greatest album ever. Some 12 year old kid might, but no radio DJ would. The same songs in studio form possibly.

I completely agree.
the best live versions and the demos can hardly be called the greatest album ever.
it would be just an average CD, and could not be called the greatest album of the month, let alone ever.

That's what I think. There is no way that a DJ would get a copy of CD. He just wants attention I guess.

why not? many can tell the greatness/ shoddiness of a piece even solely by reading music. I doubt many 12 year olds can do this tho.

On topic, if true, the copy might be same to the one allegedly played at stereo this February. Who knows.

I don't know enough about RazZ to even think that would help.
