i say it's bullshit. maybe it's a ploy to try to sell more tickets?

but all these people saying they don't want a reunion would probably be changing their tune and singing the praises of the old band if/when a reunion ever happens. What made you people fans in the first place? Exactly. The OLD band.

I've supported the new band from the time i found out back in 98 that Axl had put together a new band, and will continue to do so, but i won't turn my back on the guys that helped build the GnR name.

Can some just call the radio station and tell them that they're full of shit so this thread can be locked?

It's obviously false, but people fell like they know something so they try to share it... People on the boards know more than what the radio stations do.

Psychologically, you could consider this a reunion tour because I`ve managed to find enough pieces of my mind in order to be with you here tonight - - Axl Rose, Chicago 2002

I don't want a reunion now. I think the new band is excellent

If it happens in the future, I'll be perfectly happy too.

There is no way this could be true only because it would kill any hope Axl had of ever getting to accept the new members of this band.

The energy and magic in the building the day people saw Slash/Axl on the same stage together would make it very apparent that there would be no going back, and I don't think Axl would throw 10 years of his new venture away like that.

You can't just tease with a one-off like that unless your serious about a longer committment, because much like Pink Floyd getting together for even 4 songs last year people immediately remember the magic of the original line-up, and immitations would never again be accepted. Pink Floyd sold out shows all through the 80's and 90's, but even the staunchest anti-Roger fans realized after Live 8 that nothing they did without him equaled the magic of seeing Roger and David Gilmour on the stage together last year. Axl/Slash ever being on the same stage together again would evoke that same feeling.

So we might as well go ahead and close this thread because it is just not going to happen.

What exactly has this new band done for you besides cover the old bands music and play a few new songs that is winning new fans? The poster states he supports the new band, as I do likewise, what us "hardheads" dont and will not let people pretend is that the old band means nothing. Like it or not, they are the reasons gnr exist. And 85% of the music at these shows is theirs. I dont know why people dont understand that. Axl could show up with 5 new people tonight, but as long as he plays afd, and uyi tunes, you can sthank slash, duff, izyyy, stephen and matt for the great musiic you will here. AND KNOW, I AM NOT BASHING AXL OR THE NEW BAND, AXL AND GNR ARE MY FAVORITE, this is called an opinion.
