The Hoobastank opening act is very very very good for GNR.  I hope they can make this a long-term opener.  While they aren't one of my favorite bands, they're pretty popular with the younger crowd.  I'd rather see Hoobastank than Bullet for my Valentine or Phantom whatever.   yes

I know that the next single from Hoobastank is supposed to be about Scott Weiland.  The fellas in Hoobastank enjoyed opening for VR, but said Scott was an absolute prick.  Supposedly a few songs on the new LP are written about Scott.

It was actually the first single that was about him. From the lyrics, yeah I'd say he hates Scott.

Hey russtcb,
Do you know the name of that song, or have a link to the lyrics?  That's an interesting story.
Thanks.   peace

Beggers cant be choosers, it sure beats the hell out of Mix Master Mike, and CKY. Phantom Planet is actually a very good band, and Hoobastank has a name that at least should bring a crowd for the opening acts.

To each his/her own.  At least Mix Master Mike was mixing rock and CKY is rock.  Hobastank and Phantom Planet are pop.  Why would Guns have pop acts opening?  I pray that doesn't happen when they get to the midwest.

The song is called "If I Were You". It's on their newest album "Every Man For Himself". I don't have the lyrics off hand, but I'm sure they're at the band site. If not there's probably plenty of lyric sites that have them.

I only heard the song two or three times but it's pretty easy to tell from one listen that he doesn't care for Weiland at all.

True Guns fans wouldn't put up with either of these shit opening bands, and if we get enough hardcore gunners in there (and not people who are there because they have connections) they will be booed offstage.? Phantom Planet and Hoobastank are gonna make BFMV seem like the Beatles by comparison. I hope that the opening bands on the "actual" tour are better than this. A7X and Sebastian Bach would work pretty well, I think.

Fernando-Remember when you said you would swap your side stage view of the band for my pit view?Well, I do and I am holding you to it in 09!

Yeah, same here. I remember being told I wasn't a "real guns fan" when I saw Blind Melon and Smashing Pumpkins open for GNR back on the first leg of the UYI tour too.
