« on: September 12, 2006, 02:22:26 PM »

Just reading an interview with hot rod and he said that's what he heard(metal sludge website).

I've never heard this before; interview with comments on bass player;

Nikki Sixx = 10 for attidude, 5 for playing. He?s very aware of his ability. Its NOT about playing well or not. Its about having a vision and balls!
Twiggy Ramirez = 8. He wanted to be a freak w/ Marilyn Manson but was way too good as far as being a musician.

Pepsi Tate = 1. Brittish glam/sleazebands never did it for me. (Except for brilliant Zodiac Mindwarp)

Kenny Kweens = 8. Great stage presence. Kenny namned me ?Hot Rod? one night outside the Dragonfly in Hollywood, introducing me to Paul Stanley. ??This is our new rhythm guitarist Rod, but we?re thinking of name him ?Hot Rod?, but he?s not quite there yet?
- I guess Im there now, Bro. :-)

Gene Simmons = 9. Actually, this man is a brilliant musician. I love reading or watching interviews with this self-righteous Gentleman. But he really should stop babbling about that ?men-are-men whom was born to commit infidelity?... That?s just makes everything he said before which was cool and worth thinking about seem like bull... Gene, just drop it! We know your story by now!
Johnny Rod = 6. Where did he go? Guess he wasn?t ?Hot? enough... Sorry, Johnny, the name is no option for You anymore.

Bobby Dall = 4 for playing 1 for attitude. Or lack thereof.
Tim Skold = 10 Have You seen this man beating the hell out of his bass??? I have!
10 is for the bass work on Shotgun Messiah?s first album.
Duff McKagan = 6. I really liked his bass lines Appetite.I used to ?practice? bass to this record alot. Or is it not him playing? So I heard!
Lemmy Kilmeister = Doesn?t he really play guitar?! Well, I?ll give him 10 for attitude.

Yeah, I think it probably has something to do with a rumor Duff was to drunk to play.. Myb there were days or parts where this occured, so someone (Izzy, Slash) filled in, but I don't think it was for the WHOLE album.

Hey its not like he couldn't perform it perfect live 99% of the time, so why shouldn't he be able to do it in the studio. I don't think Duff would let anyone else do it for him.

Sure duff was fairly tanked on a lot of gigs and the latter part of the UYI tour and he sounds well able to play the parts so can't see why he couldn't play it then.

I'd agree overall. I mean, none of us know exactly what went on in the studio for sure, but I think when you listen to the records against the live stuff you can tell played his own stuff. But we'll never know for certain I guess.

We take for granted we know the whole story

« Reply #13 on: September 12, 2006, 06:52:04 PM »

the way the title is written makes us believe it is a rumour going all around, based on something interesting and then we come here and read this line: Or is it not him playing? So I heard!

yeah, I guess we should believe innit, it?s very credible and we got many info on it!...

More bullshit from Metal Sludge. Mike Clink once said he made sure the band was sober when they recorded.
