Ill be taping the october 2 nd gig at Arco anbody else want to help out with the other shows ?

You can get a md recorder for 79 bucs plus a couple more bucs for a bass roll off , if you need a link I can provide one.Taping is really easy as far as audio is concerned , and there are tons of audio master'ers lurking around htgth to help with audio mastering

" what if i get caught " ?

....put the recorder in a ziploc bag in your "ball sac".If the metal detector goes off tell the guard you have a peircing down stairs ..

"how do I set up once insinde the venue "?

....hit the bathroom up set your rig up....use a sweater with a front double pocket to lay your recorder in.....hang you mics like axl hangs a monitor ......thorugh your hat or clip onto your sweater ..

anyways , it would be great to  cordinate some dates

Sony has really good MD Recorders, as well as really good add on mics.
Seated parts of a stadium are best for recording. That way, you can tape the mic onto the balcony or rail. It really cuts down on crowd noise.

But, I think this is a great idea.
I don't know why a band would be against bootlegging. Few fans will pay for them, because everyone loves the trading ideal.

Pearl Jam fans worked together and rounded up the best quality recording of each known recorded show, and distributed it freely on 50 or so DVD-Rs. I think GNR fans should do the same. Instead of trading, they just asked to be sent 50 DVD-Rs. Then, things started moving quickly when more than one person got the package.

I'll be at all Northeastern shows... As far west as Ohio, as far south as Virginia/DC, as far north as Boston and as far east as Camden.  That should cover at least 6 shows.  peace

For those wanting to tape.

Any MD should be fine (HI-MD's are best though).

As for mics, spend more cash on them as they are what produces a 'good' recording rather than an 'average' recording.

I suggest heading over to sound pro's as they have a nice selection:

www.soundprofessionals.com

I personally have the SP-CMC-19's and SP-CMC-20's and both are great and good value, If you have more cash to spend get the more expensive mics. Wink

Any help needed (tips, advice, etc...), just send me a PM.   ok

I think its good, but its hard to stealth as its quite big. If you use that mic you have to make more effort to stay still other you get a not so good recording.

Better to get smaller 'clip on' mics so they will clip to jacket/hat and you can still move a little without ruining the recording, as long as you don't move too much, lol.

do you have a cord that runs from the md to the mic so you can place it in a good spot?
