I don't know what some people are complaining about, in my opinion it's just plain stupid to think "oh my god, he'll be at the VMA, he better annouce the release date there, it's his biggest chance!", fuck that, you think there won't be any publicity for the album release when it comes? If things were like that every freaking artist would step up to present something at the VMA and go like "oh, by the way, our next album will be out next week, be sure to go buy it!"

Axl rocked, he was invited and decided to go, it's just cool to see him going around to parties and such and not being so much of a recluse anymore, I think it's a really good sign that things are on the right track, I trust him and I think the album will be out this year, everything is pointing to that direction, so stop bitching

But some of you guys are just crazy, you say things like "Axl made the night if it werent for him this would have sucked." Remember, all he did was introduce a band. Your telling me if he hadnt said two sentences you would have hated the vmas, instead you love it? Thats the thing that I dont get.

Do you read?? This thread is 99 pages of people saying how much they hated the VMA's, but endured it to see Axl.

So I just listened to the audio of his interview with John Norris. ?He said he was in the green room and didn't watch any of the show. ?Not fair!!! ?I wasted 3.5 hours watching this crap and he was there ?and didn't have to watch! ?Is it just me, or did most of those bands tonight seem completley interchangable? ?Fall out Boy, Panic at the disco? ?I couldn't tell the difference. ?Anyway, back on topic Axl looked great,(braids not included)sounded relaxed and was having fun. ?Good for him, good for us. ?Can't wait for Vegas!!

wow I LOVED it!!!!!!

I just watched him (we get the vmas 1 hour behind here where I am) and I thought he did great!!!! the scream was perfect!!!!! it gave me chills!!! just to see him up there with WTTJ as background, audience going nuts, and him looking his best EVER!!! wow it blew my mind!!

and he was so cute explaining us how this wasn't his thing and introducing the Killers (which I like very much so that was like the best thing he could have presented for me at least hehe)

it was freakin' awesome!!! everyone who think different won't convince me otherwise

Cool presenting by Axl - I loved the scream, and he just acted natural instead of reading something stupid off of a teleprompter. Kudos to the man for being himself out there.

I thought when he first walked out he looked uncomfortable, but once he got out to his place to stand the crowd really receieved him warmly.  However, I think the scream was a cold reaction.  All in all I think he looked uncomfortable out there all together.  I did like him out there and it gets his name out there. 

Also, he did kinda look after the scream like he was trying to hold back a smile..... I dunno he was either uncofmortable or trying to hold back a smile
