well...  looks like i?m really going to watch the vma`s now.....

or is anyone taping this?  i hope so either way....

Hopefully there won't be any GNR or Axl jokes from Jack Black or anyone else to include on that DVD.

If something else happens, why not wait about 36 hours and then talk about it instead of trying to come up with all kinds of scenarios?

/jarmo

I don't think so. I'm not expecting much, but I guess people like to have fun with this talk.. Also, there's too much hope in this album, so it's quite normal to act like that.

The first one to complain about Axl/GnR NOT performing should get flamed majorly Cheesy

Oh well then keep the flame throwers lit. About 50% of this board will have the nerve to come on here and start posting about how Axl ruined their lives because he only presented an award.

Has it been mentioned that MTV's Video Music Award might be the occasion to premiere a video for a new single ? Dizzy wouldn't have to be there... Just a thought...

Axl will be there presenting an award, and maybe that will extend his fanbase a little bit because outside of the GNR veterans and the people who check GNR boards, not many people know theres a new band. Don't expect them to play at the VMA's because the awards show alreadyave to much going on with other singers and bands.

No one has ever premiered a video at the VMAs. Why would someone do it now?

Yeah, I can see that too. Like have GNR be pioneers for something no ones ever done. But to me premiering a video would just slow the pace of the show down.

If they are gonna premier a new song, it seems like live performance is a much better vehicle.

best case scenario for the vma's, imn my opinion would be... just have axl present the award, maybe have a short interview with loder. ?but towards the end of the show maybe feature a well made 30 sec-1min commercial annoucing the release of cd as well as the 1st single (hopefully better) they could show some footage from the uk tour/ny warm ups & ?announce the full US tour that will support the new album. ?run this commercial 2 or 3 times in the last hour of the vmas. ?this would be a great way too start off the mainstream promotion of the album & that this new incarnation of Gnr are the strongest ever!

The one reason I could see them not performing is the chance of another FUCK UP.........that would be a disaster....a release date hint would be fine with me......but I ain't expecting anything "special" to happen...unless some celeberty chicks start making out or something.....

outside of the GNR veterans and the people who check GNR boards, not many people know theres a new band.

There are probably a million-strong GNR veterans that you're speaking of that are waiting for this album ( maybe more)
I'd say 90% of the Rock industry ( including bands -new and old) definitely know that Axl Rose has been working on this album for a long time

It would be a good time to get the info out there and get the ball rolling for promoting this thing. Understanding completely that a lot of those viewing these awards are not exactly fans, there will still be a whole shit-load of people in one place at one time watching this thing - so he should take advantage -and I believe he will
