I hope they play a new GnR video at the end of the show that features a guitarist with a KFC bucket on his head, if you can smell what the Colonel is cooking!!!
HA HA HA!!!!! they havent even finished the album, ya think they've done a video? u crazy man.

I'm pretty sure the album is done.  It's out of Axl's hands now, and has been.  If it wasn't, I don't think Axl would be out touring, and partying as much.  Among other reasons.

AXL SLASH DUFF = GOAT

« Reply #801 on: August 29, 2006, 09:14:35 PM »

Ok, so on the chance that they do perform, do you really think it would be wise to play something very few have ever heard? ?Do you think it would be wise to rehash old material as they did in '02? ?Unless they play a new song and release it immediately as a single. ?That could work. ?Otherwise it will be nice to see Axl presenting. ?

So who do they pair Axl off with? ?Lindsay? ?Paris?

I think the best possible move for Axl at the VMA's, is to announce the release of Chinese Democracy somehow.  Either by mouth, or by shirt.

I think this is the only move he can make.  If he just simply presents an award, it just lets people know that he is out and about.  If he sings, people will be like "yeah, that was cool, but what about the damn album".

Perform? He's probably going to realize how lame it is to present an award at the lame-ass VMA's that don't mean crap anymore, and he's not going to bother to show up.

I'm REALLY getting my hopes up on this one...just like 03, 04, and 05 which I also thought made sense for GN'R to comeback even though I knew they weren't.  I think (hope) this year will be different.  Bring on GN'R and especially bring on the chicken master BUCKETHEAD. CAN'T WAIT...I'm leaving work early to witness the entire show.  When does the pre-show start?

LOL Buckethead coming back this will not happen.  Now if SLASH was mentioned instead I would believe that more than Buckethead coming back.

how come every time Axl makes a pulic appearance everyone thinks he's going to announce the release date of CD. When has he ever announced the release date other than vague phrases like "this fall," next year, when it's ready. Why is it so hard to believe that he's just going to give an award to whatever sorry ass flavor of the year band is nominated this year.

"Every time" he appears?

I'm sorry, how many nationally televised appearances has he made within the last decade?

That's right - only one! At the '02 VMAs.

they say rod stewart is also going to attend.  if any song displays axls rejuvinated vocals i would say Sailing displayed more range and clarity then any other.  I know the young audience cares less about rod stewart and it would be suicide for gnr if axls tv appearence was paired with the likes of a older musician.  but what if he paired with stewart like he did with(elton john NR) and later on in the show came on to do a new song with guns the full band.  i think something like this would accomplish alot. 1 it would prove to every one axl can still sing his balls off.  and 2 then show the world his band with their new single.  i think this plus a interview after the show or somewhere during the show explaining the release of democracy would easily be the perfect eveningwhat is your opinions expectations or comments.  ( i dont post often rarely ever but in the last 4 years this easily is the most excited i have been about the band)
