seriously I think TR&R just said it correctly.

He'll probably just present, then walk off.

That's what I think, we'll see what happens.
I'd rather not hope for somethink then be surprised if somethink does happen, rather then be expecting somethink and then be dissappointed if nothink happens.

Then if nothing happens, who's fault will it be? Axl's!

well if you write an essay or do do a speech where does your most important point go

you put something flashy at the start to grab attention... which btw is Shakira in this instance for the article then a big thing at the end to close it off. if people bother reading that 2nd paragraph at all they will read it all not just the first name

so VMA's, Shakira, Timberlake, jack black Thurs, aug 31st @ 8pm that is what they are selling the show on. the 2nd paragraph is for people who care about more details

My bet is Axl is paired up with Tommy Hilfiger ?

While it has been pointed out that most artists who use the VMAs as a platform to promote their new offerings, that doesn't mean it doesn't happen all the time. ?Seems to me that every year we see a constant stream of publicity notices and stunts for those artists who have something in the pipeline.

More than likely is that Axl will show up, present an award, party his brains out with some hot chick who know one's ever heard of yet all of you will google her name the next day, and party some more. ?

Also, does anyone know of any special awards given out this year? ?They usually have a life time achievement award or something of such pedigree. ?Perhaps MTV is celebrating someone who's been in the business and Axl will be the one doing the toasting. ?Who knows, but it should be exciting...

It should also be interesting to see how Jack Black introduces Axl.

Final random thought; it would be awesome if whoever they paired Axl up with to present came out looking like Axl circa 1992 (bandana, quilt, leather jackat, cop glasses). ?That would be sweet.

Whatever happens, I hope they make it fun for the fans

If anything, I think GNR will play a private post-show party at a NYC club, with many celebrities in tow.  This would be the smartest thing to do.

Yeah, they have the Video Vanguard Award which GNR won and Axl made a funny remark during his speech about Michael Jackson. So that would be my only other wild guess for Axl to present besides the Video of the Year.
