This is all good, no matter if there is a performance or not.  Axl wants to be back in the public eye now and renew interest in the band and sell out shows.

Very very good news although I do despise MTV-

Maybe GnR won't perform but Axl might come out and do a duet with someone or join another band performing.

I wouldnt bet my life on a release date or performance. Though a hint at it wouldn't suprize me. And thats just because he's a presenter, as its been said before he doesn't want to steal someone else's thunder. But like I said in a previous post no one can knock you for hoping! smoking

I am sure I am not alone in saying that a performance on live T.V. would be one of the coolest things. But also we have to ask ourselves do want another 2002 performance, or a Rock In Rio performance, with this band it seems you never know what you're gonna get. But saying that with the risk of having a bad public performance they should do it anyway! And no one can knock us for hoping.? smoking
Axls voice is so much better than 02 and rio was a good concert just the broadcast sucked. And i doubt mtv would screw up the broacast

Ya buts the point I was trying to make, when you do a live performance on national TV such as MTV, escpecially here in the U.S. It needs to be a good performance if you want to use it to promote your upcoming tour. And their MTV performance in 2002 and the live performance online at Rock In Rio this year to a lesser extint puts a bad taste in an everyday rock fans mouth (not a die-hard like you and me). Not that a everday rock fan watches mtv, but the bad publicity will hurt. So thats why its a risk if they perform at MTV because if it comes out like 2002 or like RIR than thats only going to lower ticket sales and anticipation for the Album.

Bring it Axl

« Reply #93 on: August 24, 2006, 02:45:00 PM »

IMO Axl needs to anounce something wheather it be at the VMA's or prese realse or something. If he doesn't it will be very interesting what attendence these shows will have, especially here in San Diego. With no announcment or Big opening band I'm thinking maybe 5 to 7 thousand people at the Sports Arena that seats about 15k for concerts. ?

Funny how some people here always bash sp1at but when gigger announces something like that nobody gives him credit.  But anyways back on topic this is fantastic news!  Finally things are happening and I couldn't be happier. beer

that is what i was thinking. mtv loves to pair up different people at the vmas.
Here are the performers that are annoucned: The Killers, Panic At The Disco, T.I., Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera

not too good of a lineup. maybe axl/robin/fortus come out and play beautiful with christina aguilera. doubt it though. i think the real reason axl is going to be there is to promote dizzy's show. ?hihi
