all the reviews in UK i've read seem to be giving it 3/5 if your very lucky. They seem to think rocky balboa is a dry film. Really i'm suprised at this huge rift between USA andd UK critics

Comedy is tragedy plus time

I really liked the movie until the fight itself and the ending after that.

It seemed very rushed. And before that the movie seemed to make a genuine effort to being a real movie. But then they decided to fuck up the whole buildup with a very Rockyish boxing match and it sort of ruined the movie for me.

I was sort of looking forward to seeing this movie because I saw some really positive reviews about it. But in the end it went down to being 'just another rocky'. Though it was the best since the first one (I don't know if there's some nostalgia for me there but I liked that one).

It was as good any Rocky film starring a 60-year-old Stallone was ever going to be, and it worked well in terms of nostalgia, but it didn't appear to have any point to it other than to revive Sly's profile. Another Rambo next? Oh my.

Actually, I think the point of making the movie was to fix what happened with Rocky 5, and have a good ending to the series.  Which they accomplished.
And whats a "Rockyish boxing match"?  You do realize its a "Rocky" movie right?  How else could they have done the fight?  Rocky getting knocked out in the first 30 seconds, completly negating the movie?

well remember stallone himself is 60, in the movie we're supposed to assume Rocky is in his 50's. like mid 50's i guess. i think thats the only age reference we got, i think they said mid 50's in the movie or something to that degree.

in the movie he mentioned being 59

You what? I saw it yesterday, I don't think so pal.

The closest you get to a reference to his age in the movie is that Rocky is 'in his fifties.'

I enjoyed the movie by the way.  yes
