Nothing really groundbreaking, but Scream isn't a bad album. Diggin' Me Down, Time and especially Let It Die stuck out to me on the first listen. Ozzy sounds good throughout it.
I concur.
Scream
won't ever be remembered as Ozzy's best album, but it sounds damn good. It's a grower, much like his three previous albums. Ozzy's voice is as powerful as ever. My favorite songs are "Crucify", "Let it Die", and "Diggin me Down", but I really like the whole album save for "Latimer's Mercy" and "I Want it More".
There are two bonus tracks: "One More Time" (itunes), which is okay, and "Jump the Moon" (Japanese release), which I really like.

From Ozzy:
OZZY OSBOURNE: BRUCE DICKINSON Is A 'C**t' Who 'Needs A F**kin' Psychiatrist' - July 29, 2010
Ozzy Osbourne talked to BLACK SABBATH biographer Joel McIver for The Quietus this week. Excerpts from the chat, which covered subjects as diverse as Ozzy's recent legal case with Tony Iommi and the 2005 "egg-throwing incident" with IRON MAIDEN, follow.
The Quietus: In 2005 your wife Sharon allegedly arranged eggs to be thrown at IRON MAIDEN while they played at the Ozzfest, supposedly because MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson had made some comments on stage that she disliked. What's your take on that?
Ozzy Osbourne: You know what? Unbeknown to me, every night he was going on stage slagging me off. And that wasn't fair. If he didn't like the fuckin' tour, he should have said "I'm jumping [off] the fuckin' tour," but to go on stage and fuckin' slag me off for no reason? I'd never said a fuckin' bad thing to him. The bass player [Steve Harris] came round at the last gig and said "I'm sorry about Bruce," and I'm like, "What the fuck are you talking about?" Nobody had told me, you know. I said, "You know what? I don't understand what the fuck you're talking about here."
And so, I mean, Sharon got pissed off? it was nothing to do with me. I suppose Sharon got pissed off. I'll back my wife up to the hilt, but I didn't know what was going down. But you know what? [MAIDEN were getting] a few fuckin' quid out of that Ozzfest. If you've got something to talk to me about, be a man. Come to my face and say, "I think you're a fuckin' asshole." Don't be a fuckin' idiot. It's so pathetically childish.
Unfortunately the rest of the band had to suffer: I suppose they were pissed off with him. But it's wrong: I've never, ever, ever spoken to the guy? No, I tell a lie, one night they were about to go on stage and I didn't know anything was going down, and I said to them, "Have a good show, guys." But I don't like all that shit going down. If you don't like me, just say "I don't like you, I'm doing this festival but I think you're a cunt." That's all right. But to go on my stage and start slagging me off ? that ain't fair. They weren't fucking slagging me off when they got paid every fucking night.

From Zakk Wylde:
Gnarly Charlie's Revealing Conversation with Zakk Wylde
August 8, 2010
KNAC.COM: There's something that's been hanging out there a while that's caused a lot of people to take sides, when the truth is, we're supposed to be all on the same team. Some of it has been fueled by other parties directly involved in the 2005 Ozzfest Iron Maiden egg-throwing thing. I'm not interested in your opinion of the characters involved, but I'd love to know if you have something you want the heavy music fans out there to know, now that 6 years of water has passed under the bridge.
WYLDE: Well, the whole thing is ridiculous. What it should have been down to is Mom should've just talked with their manager and just said, "Hey, look it. Tell your guy to shut the fuck up. And if he mentions one more thing, you guys are off the tour." That's it. You're done. And if their manager, Rod [Smallwood], went over to them--because they're all fucking grown ups--and said, "Dude, enough of the fucking bagging on The Boss. First off, it's their fucking tour." And that's the end of the conversation. The minute he goes back there and says, "Oh, fuck this. We don't need a reality TV show, fuck Ozzy, this and that, bla bla bla..." then you know what? Pull the power on them right there. Have a guy sitting on the side of the stage every fucking night and the minute he says one bad thing about Ozzy, break his fucking legs and you're off and you're on your way. That's it. Done.
KNAC.COM: So that's what was really going on?
WYLDE: It should have never got to eggs. If anyone ever threw eggs at me, I'd break their fucking legs, dude. I'd stop the show right there and whoever was throwing the fucking eggs--I'd fuckin' morgue them. I wouldn't hospitalize them. I'd fuckin' kill them, right there. I'm looking at both sides. If I was Iron maiden, I'd fuck some people up. And, if I find out who's responsible for it, they're getting fucked up, too. I mean, I'd never go up onstage and start bagging on whoever the headliner is. If anything, all I ever do is thank the band for letting us play with them. When I opened up for Ted Nugent and Lynyrd Skynyrd, I thought, this is such an honor to be playing with these guys. Why would I say anything bad about them? You know what I mean? And on top of that, you're getting paid. It's so fuckin' ridiculous. It's a fuckin' joke. I had no idea. I was just like, "whatever, man." I'm telling you right now--the way I would have handled it would be, "Hey, guy. You tell your singer to shut the fuck up or hands down, I'll break his fuckin' neck. I'll break his legs first, then I'll break his fuckin' neck. Then you'll have no singer. So he can't say shit. Throw eggs? I'll slit his fuckin' throat, dude. I'd say, "fuck you!" Fuckin' throw eggs? Are you fuckin' kidding me? What, are we in second grade here? Come on. Throw eggs? Throw fuckin' grenades, now. You motherfucker. That whole thing should have just never happened. It should've been, "Tell him to shut up or the guy's off tour." That's it. Then his manager would have said, "Dude, enough of the talking, slagging the headlining act." I mean, how old are we here, dude? How old is Bruce Dickinson? You'd expect that out of an 18-year old, like the Battle of the Bands in high school? What do you think about it?
KNAC.COM: I was there all day and all that night in San Bernardino, really liking the whole thing, up to the point of the egging. And I continued to dig the show afterward. When Black Sabbath went on and did their set, they were totally professional, of course. Ozzy didn't say shit...
WYLDE: I guarantee you that Ozzy didn't even know that that went down. I'm telling you. I know he didn't.

Interesting, from Ozzy Osbourne:
Wednesday, August 18, 2010
Osbourne recently stated that he'd be in favor of reuniting with original Black Sabbath members Tommy Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
"We're talking and that's a good sign," he says."We're not at war with each other ... I was speaking to Bill Ward last night. I've got to speak to the other two. But it was in the last attempt where we just all met without saying anything to each other (after) quite a few years. I'm trying to get things done right, talking at least. I can't give any dates, 'cause I don't know anything. I don't know whether they want to do it with me, or whatever, but I'm starting to feel (things) ease up for it.
To be honest with you, I would love to do a killer Black Sabbath album. It would make my life, my whole thing, round up perfectly for me.'

I really hope they do get back together and do at least one more album. I've never listened to the Forbidden album, but it just wouldn't seem right for that to be Sabbath's final album.
Also, I'd quite like to see 'em live.

Black Sabbath bassist hopes original lineup gets together for world tour
23/08/2010
"It'd be just nice to do one final, big Sabbath tour because we didn't really play that many places when we got together for the last reunion (in 2005)," Butler said in a telephone interview from California.
"It'd be nice to do the tour while we're still alive."
Still, Butler ? who stays in regular contact with the rest of the band ? wouldn't rule out the quartet reuniting for a new record.
"I'm not holding me breath about it," he said. "There'd be so much past pressure on us. But you never know, you know. I didn't think Heaven & Hell would ever do an album together, but we did.
"It just depends on if we can all come together and do it. If we got the direction right, then it'd probably be straightforward."

OZZY OSBOURNE 'Deserves An Oscar' For His OZZFEST 2010 Pre-Concert Video Montage - Aug. 23, 2010
Fan-filmed footage of Ozzy Osbourne's entire six-minute Ozzfest 2010 pre-concert video montage ? featuring the Prince of Darkness set in everything from a "Jersey Shore" scene to a Lady Gaga video ? can be viewed below.
Molly Woulfe of NWI.com, who wrote that Ozzy deserves an Oscar for his performance in the montage, described the video in the following way: "No greatest-hits reel for Ozzy; the BLACK SABBATH frontman bedeviled the nouveau famous by inserting himself into a montage of film clips that spoofed 'Avatar' to 'The Hangover'. His take on 'Twilight':
"Bella/Kristen Stewart: 'Your skin is pale white and ice-cold.'
"Ozzy as Edward/Robert Pattinson: '... Vampires are (bleep). I'm the Prince of (bleeping) Darkness!'

From Ozzy Osbourne...
Ozzy's new tricks a real treat
October 31, 2010
Was it tough to make Scream after losing Zakk Wylde? He was your guitarist and right-hand man for 20 years.
Let me set something straight: I didn't lose Zakk. It was time for me to move on. I love the guy as much as I've always loved him, and as much as I will always love him. He's like family, you know. I remember when he was in hospital a while back. He had a blood clot in his hip or his leg or something. I sent him an email that said, 'Zakk, if you die before me, I'll f---ing kill you.
I spoke to Geezer Butler recently and he said he'd love to do one more Black Sabbath world tour.
I bet he would. (Laughs) Um, I'm not saying I wouldn't do it. But not right now. I've got another year to finish my tour. And if I do a Black Sabbath tour, he's got to promise to stop f---ing moaning. Geezer, I love him. But he's always on about something. He's like, 'Ohhhhh.' And I'm like, 'Yeah, great to see you too, Geezer.'
Well, it is cool when somebody asks me something other than, 'What does a bat taste like?' and 'Did you really p--- on the Alamo?' I mean, f--- off, you know? I was at the market the other day and this guy comes running >up with his camera and he's from KLF or TLC or whatever it's called. And he goes, 'So, Ozzy, are you gonna buy bat for dinner?' I said, 'Is that all you've f---ing got to ask me, you p---k? That's the dumbest f---ing question I've heard this week.' And the guy goes, 'Yeah, I suppose it is.' That's the kind of s--- I have to deal with.

Ozzy Osbourne screams on, untainted by booze
NOVEMBER 1, 2010
"Zakk had got sick with blood clots," Osbourne said, referring to the illness that forced Wylde to cancel tour dates in the summer of 2009. "He'd been doing double duty. He'd been doing my gig and his own. I knew eventually I'd have to get somewhat of a permanent replacement for Zakk, and so now was the time, because people were saying I was starting to sound like Black Label Society, which is very possible, because he is Black Label Society. And you know what? Zakk's a (bleeping) fine player, one of the greatest players I ever worked with in my life. And he's still a good mate of mine. We still communicate."
Osbourne found a new collaborator in Kevin Churko, who also produced Scream and Black Rain and had done some writing on that previous CD. Churko brought multiple talents to Scream as Osbourne's new right-hand man.
"We would do the music together," Osbourne said. "He would say, 'What do you think of this?' And I'd say, 'It would be better if you did this and that.' We just worked things out. It was great. I mean, when it comes to lyrics, I ain't the best lyricist, so I like to have someone to bounce (ideas) off of. He's very clever and it's good for me to bounce off him."
Osbourne will showcase a few songs from Scream on a headlining tour that continues through 2011, and he also promises his show will include a few surprises.
"I mean, I'm not going to just play the (usual) Sabbath songs like Iron Man, War Pigs and Paranoid," he said. "I've got choices on this one. Whatever songs I want to pull up instead of the classic songs I always do, I'm playing some of my solo songs. I'm playing a couple of songs I haven't played on stage for a long, long time. I'm not going to tell you what they are, because it would kill the surprise."

I'm seeing Ozzy in a few weeks and that sounds good to me! Seen him 5 previous times and getting tired of the same old setlist. I know he's been playing "Killer of Giants" and "Shot in the Dark", and during Ozzfest, he was playing "Fire in the Sky". I hope he keeps those and adds more rarities!

From an interview with Gus G.:
What was the audition like for the Ozzy gig?
There was an audition last summer. I learned a bunch of songs and went down to L.A. Obviously I was very excited and stressed about it, but it wasn?t as bad as I thought it would be. I figured it was going to be a bunch of guys in there and you get your 15 minutes and that?s it. But I actually had a couple of hours to spend with the band. We just jammed and went through all the parts in all the songs and fixed parts that I may have had questions about. A couple of hours later Ozzy came down and we jammed and it went pretty good. We did ?Bark at the Moon,? ?Crazy Train,? ?I Don?t Know,? ?Paranoid,? and ?I Don?t Want to Change the World.?
How big an influence was Ozzy?s music on you?
Very big. I?m a huge Black Sabbath fan. I?m a bigger Sabbath fan than Ozzy fan to be honest, not to put any of Ozzy?s music down because I grew up with his solo records as well and I studied all the guitar players that have played in his band. But I have a certain love for Black Sabbath and Tony Iommi. I think I totally come from that school of guitar? that traditional, heavy, hard rock guitar playing.

From Gus G.:
11/24/2010
When the time comes for Ozzy to record another album, can you see songwriting opportunities arising?
Oh yeah, man. I've already started writing stuff for him, and we've already discussed the possibility of doing another one. We've been jamming on some riffs, and he's really excited about them. Hopefully, we're gonna get to do that after this world tour ends. Hopefully we'll take a break, and then we'll go back in and do another record. Ozzy's been talking about going in and doing the next record like they were done in the old days, like the first two albums (September 1980's 'Blizzard Of Ozz' and November 1981's 'Diary Of A Madman') were done; getting the actual band together to jam, and doing it together. I think if we had the chance to do that, we can create a really killer record.
When does Ozzy's current world tour end?
I think we're scheduled to go on up until next summer.
So really then, it's more than likely that the Ozzy Osbourne group will get together in 2012 to make a new album?
It's too early to say. Who knows what will happen? What I'm telling you right now is stuff we more or less discuss backstage when we're hanging out and so on - there's no real, official plan. What I know is we're gonna have a bunch of tours coming up in North America, and then we're gonna go to South America, and some summer festivals have been just announced for Europe. Once we get all that stuff done and out of the way, I'm sure we'll have a bit more of a concrete idea of what's gonna happen in the future. If you ask me, I'd love to regroup sometime in 2012 and do that, but it's not up to me. I know Ozzy has a lot of other projects as well.
Yeah, that's true. What do the riffs you've written with Ozzy in mind sound like?
It sounds like heavy metal (laughs).
How would you compare these ideas to those on 'Scream' though, an album you didn't write for?
It's hard to say; they're just me basically making riffs so far, and grooves and stuff like that. They're definitely a bit more traditional, and not as modern as 'Scream' was. They're a bit more back to basics, back to the roots. You've heard me play with Firewind and a bunch of other bands, so you know what my style's like. They're definitely not like melodic speed metal or anything. They're more in the vein of old Ozzy.
