shit wouldnt it be fuckin awesome to have a Black Sabbath record with Ozzy next year?
knowing that last Ozzy's record with Sabbath was in 1978 , 30 years earlier.

Black Sabbath, I think is the most underated band ever. When people think of Black Sabbath they think about the Paranoid record,
damn, Sabbath is way more than that, is Technical Ecstasy, Sabotage , Master of reality, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, truly master pieces.
I wish they could have played live more often songs like:Backstreet kids, megalomania, the writ, thrill of it all, killing yourself to live, under the sun/everyday is the same,  so people would have gotten to "know" these incredible songs. yes

Paul Taylor of the Manchester Evening News recently conducted an interview with BLACK SABBATH/HEAVEN AND HELL guitarist Tony Iommi.

Asked if he's ready to serve yet another decade as riffmeister supreme, Iommi replied, "I was asked that question 40 years ago and I probably gave the same answer: I don't know. I enjoy playing. I like to be on stage, but the getting there is another thing. I hate the travelling. When you're 20 it's fantastic."

On touring as HEAVEN AND HELL:

"If we'd gone out as BLACK SABBATH, I think people would have expected us to do 'Iron Man', 'Paranoid', all that stuff. I thought it would be different to go out under another name and play the stuff we'd done with Ronnie [James Dio]."

On the chances of there being another Ozzy-fronted tour in the not-too-distant future:

"Everything's a possibility. I talk to Ozzy a lot ? once a week. He always stays in touch. I know there's a lot of talk out there about an album, and also a tour. It would be nice ? a final tour of BLACK SABBATH."

On slicing the ends off the middle and ring fingers of his right hand when he was an 18-year-old working in a sheet metal factory:

"I was told I couldn't play any more. The doctors told me to pack up, but I wouldn't accept that.

"It's still very sore. If a tip comes off while I'm playing, as happened once, I just slice right through, because the bone's right under the skin."

Question for anyone in the know: I've read that the 2002 CD remasters of Ozzy's first 3 albums had the bass and drums re-recorded. Are there any CDs of these albums with the original bass and drums on them? Or if I go into a shop and buy Blizzard Of Ozz (for example), is it likely to be the re-recorded version?

This is true.  If you buy a new album, it will have the re-recorded parts (I think it says so on a label...Robert Trujillo, now in Metallica, did the bass recordings).  I haven't heard the new parts, but I've heard they take away from the originals.  Plus, it's just a shitty money grab by Sharon Osbourne.

What you should consider doing is buying an older version (probably used) on eBay or something like that.  The 1995 remasters are probably the most likely thing you'll find, and they all have covers like this:

The 2002 versions, which were re-recorded, have the original covers, with a label indicating "Great new re-recorded parts..." or some such BS (the label isn't visible here):

Just be careful what you're buying, and ask questions to be certain of what you're getting.

Thanks. I downloaded a couple of songs from the first 3 albums from iTunes in the past but was sure they were the re-recorded versions. But I was able to find the original versions of some of them, also from iTunes. I think I'll just get the full CDs, but I'll make sure to get the 1995 ones. beer

Bon Jovi world tour begins to take shape

Bon Jovi has announced the first round of dates for a mammoth tour that will take the veteran rockers to more than 10 countries around the world over the next half year.

"We're starting in New Jersey and then taking it to the world," lead singer Jon Bon Jovi told a packed house Thursday night (10/25) in Newark, NJ, according to a press release issued through the tour's promoters, AEG Live. The show marked the band's first date of a ten-night engagement inaugurating the city's brand new Prudential Center.

Including the nine remaining Newark shows, plans are currently in place for more than 40 concerts in the US, Canada and Japan, with additional shows expected in New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Holland and Austria, according to promoters. Tickets for US shows go on sale to the public beginning Nov. 3; fans should check the band's website for additional ticket information.

Bon Jovi is touring behind "Lost Highway," its ninth album of original material, and first since 2005's platinum-selling "Have a Nice Day," which spawned the Grammy-winning duet "Who Says You Can't Go Home" with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles.

Released in June, the album moved 292,000 copies in its first week on store shelves, debuting in the No. 1 position on the US album chart, marking the band's first chart-topping set since 1988's "New Jersey."
