Not sure about that ... Jon and the boys are bigger than Axl/GN'R these days.

He said 'Bon Jovi can suck my dick' ages ago, when a reporter didn't recognize him and thought he was JBJ. He was pissed of and dropped that 'famous' (read : stupid) line during a blues impro with the band.

So now, everytime Bon Jovi comes in a thread, you have always some idiots that bring back the 'Bon Jovi can suck my dick' thing.

I Don't think Axl cares or hate them.
I don't think Jon or the band hates Axl/GN'R. I think he's pissed because of the attention Axl gets just being a recluse, when Bon Jovi are touring like crazy and work a lot since ... well, since 1984.

But we all know that Axl ain't a recluse anymore beer

the only time I've heard Axl speak of AC/DC was on a  bootleg cover of Whole Lotta Rosie. It was live and at the begining Axl says "The Melody Maker called us a  weak AC/DC.  Well I ain't no Bon Scott but that's a whole lotta rosie to me" I don't know when it was recorded(86, 87, 88) but It's on my Outta The Vault bootleg disc.

that's not the point.

GNR are ever been more famous than Bon Jovi, and - above all - Axl is a way bigger star than Jon

I don't think so. I mean, Axl Rose and Bon Jovi are both legends, but Bon Jovi has been releasing albums for years and selling out Giants Stadium and other arenas every time he comes around. So does Guns and Roses, but they're not in the lime light. Is he bigger than Axl Rose? I'd say so. But I mean, lets see what happens when Chinese Democracy is released and the public hears the new Guns and Roses. Then lets see what Axl will do with it.

Don't forget, Bon Jovi is also much more radio friendly that Axl. He appeals to the older 40 somethings much more than GNR will ever. It's much more easy to "Have a Nice Day" than it is to dance with "Mr. Brownstone"

Oh yeah, HAVE A NICE DAY is such a great song, I just can't stop listening to it. NOT

Pull yourself together. Bon Jovi has always been POP rock, that's why they're POPULAR...

They might have a few good tunes, but even Britney might have a good tune. And let's not forget that back in their "good ol days" they needed lots of help from Desmond Child to write all those "hits"...

Oh, and Skeba, mine's bigger.  Tongue

I'm sorry to break it to you but just because you think the record is good, doesn't make it a good record.

Bon Jovi ran out of ideas after the late 80's band crisis. Before that, yes, they were a damn good band, even ripping off some other band's songs, but who doesn't? Grin
After that, it's just been re-writing and ripping off their own songs... ?no

Hmmm maybe I haven't got all the info, but based purely on the particular rant: Axl says they were attacked by five guys in suits in the hotel, and that "First off this guy grabs me and calls me Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi can suck my dick."

So from what I've gathered, getting called Bon Jovi was meant as more of an insult (...which it is, too).

Well, I wouldn't mind getting called Bon Jovi. They are good musicians, they're great live. New album was fine.

Maybe they are more radio friendly, but at least they are out there playing since 20+ years.

ummm and Axl needed help from Izzy back in the "good ol days".

I am from Jersey and its against the law here to ever put down Bon Jovi and Springsteen.  I have seen both of them live and they can unify crowds like no one I have ever seen.

Anyways, no I dont think Axl or Bon Jovi care either way about each other anymore.

From what I understand, other then the one time Axl mentioned Bon Jovi, I don't think he (or they) have ever crossed his mind. He's on a totally different level then Jon or Richie or their collective band.

It's obvious that JBJ cannot get over the fact that Axl was/is a bigger star then him by his assinine remarks recently. It's like he's really upset that he's gotta do things like that shit sellout single with that country chick to gain no fans. He's been retreading the same old crap for years and years. They last 3 Bon Jovi albums all sound EXACTLY the same. They all follow the same pattern and all of the single are almost the same. It's crazy. To me, JBJ should look at that problem and try to fix it instead of worrying about why the world is more concerned with what Axls doing.

So to answer your question; I don't think they were ever "enimies" but I don't think Axl gives a flying crap about them when JBJ and his keyboard buddy David Bryan obviously spend more then a little time paying attention to Axl.
