Chinese Democracy tracklist predictions

Alright, I'm a bit of a n00b here, so I'm sure this topic has been posted many times, but let's give it a shot. What songs do you think will be on Chinese Democracy, and how many of them do you think will be entirely new to us who have followed the band?
Songs I think will certainly be included:
- Madagascar
- The Blues
- Chinese Democracy
- There Was a Time
- Catcher in the Rye
- I.R.S.
- Better
Songs I doubt will be on CD:
- Silkworms
- Oh My God
So on top of the songs we've heard over and over for years, how many TOTALLY new songs do you think will be on the album?

I'm hoping the song "Search Function" will be included, but I fear most people here would just overlook it.

This thread is pointless as there are several threads about the same. We're all sure Blues, Maddy,IRS,Better, Chinese Democracy, and TWAT will be included. The rest is a mystery. I think we hope CITR appears.

I'll play along...
Chinese Democracy
Better
IRS
The Blues
Catcher in the Rye
Riyadh
Prostitute
Seven
Madagascar
The General
This I Love
another unknown song
TWAT
In my opinion, Madagascar is too weak to be on this album. But since it is still being played, its likely to make the final cut. But with BH and orchestra arrangements, it may kick ass. I think CD is the perfect opener. Using it as the opening track isn't giving away too much of the album too early. But if they go the route U2 did and start with their catchiest song(that we've heard), then Better would be the choice. Although I'm not a huge fan of TWAT, that killer BH outro deserves to close the album.

Seems to be the thing these days to have the strongest tracks/singles during the first few songs.. at least from the albums I've bought recently (only a few!).
I miss the days when old school CD singles were the thing.. now they are pretty much gone.. I used to love following the charts when I was a kid and seeing which songs have moved and seeing where GN'R were placed.

I miss those days as well. You make good points about bands using their strongest tracks first. In the case of CD, I think that would be a huge mistake. This is going to be the most scrutinized album in history, and if it comes anywhere near the epic stature we believe, this album needs an almost perfect flow, and loading all the best tracks at the beginning could make it appear as a much weaker album than it really would/could be. Songs of the caliber of CD, IRS, and Riyadh need to be dispersed throughout epics such as The Blues, CITR, TWAT,etc.

True, but for the same reason you stated the first single needs to really grab the listeners. Of what we have heard Riyadh and CITR just dont sound like hit singles to me.

If people inside the GNR camp are correct that Prostitute is the strongest track, then they have to use that as the first single. If not, I think its a toss up between Better and CD. Better is catchier, and would appeal to a wider range of fans, but CD is a solid rocker that would be on the rock charts for a decent amount of time until they decide what the next single is.

I think CD is the perfect opener.
I have a feeling that CD will be the first track on the album, that's why they changed the beginning, cause they didn't want to start it with the 'it
don't
really matter' lines. People'd think Axl doesn't know the grammar.

I love Madagascar. It's one of the, i dunno, tracks you think of when you think of CD. It's been played on both tours. The Blues and CD also fit into this categoy.
I don't think that will be the tracklist. There are too many songs we have already heard. You've included eight we have already heard in one form or another. Only five brand new. Therefore, I don't think Rhiad or Catcher will on the album. Like I said Maddy, the Blues and CD have always been played so they have to be there. There Was A Time and Better have to be there. They are two of Axl's favourites. I'm not so sure about IRS. Remember he only played those songs coz they leaked, didn't want to reveal any more brand new tracks. But I think it could end up like Rhiad and Silkworms, just a song to play live. Merck said it wasn't even one of the top 10 songs they were thinking off. Ok there are 13 on the album but I'm sure that means it was only an option. I have a feeling Axl will go for another brand new song.
To tell the truth, if your setlist was correct, I would be a little dissappointed. Apart from having already heard most of the songs, I just don't think it would be up to the standard expected of GnR. Especially after all the time spent making it. Well unless the five tracks we haven't heard are the best songs on the album, which I suppose is a possibilty.

I agree. Hope to have a mixed flow like Appetite and the Illusions.
