Avenge Sevenfold... omg how can you not know them?!

They're a generic-sounding rock band just like every other band that's been showcased tonight?

Not to give anybody shit but I haven't heard anything impressive. ?These bands wouldn't be worthy to be an opening act for a "real" band. ? Peace...just my opinion.

can somebody please give me a link where I can watch it? I'm watching MTV Brazil but they have a delay over the broadcast in the USA (about 10 or 15 minutes late)

John Norris seems to have borrowed his wig from the local off-Broadway production of Oliver Twist.

Did anyone see the look on Christina A's face when she lost out to Kelly Clarkson? Wow. What a jealous bitch!

I hate her music video too. What a poser.. she deserved to lose. (Not that I like any of the choices.. but at least Christina didn't win. Haha.)

Its easy to focus on the negative, so Ill go with the positive (although I didnt see all of it, or even half):

The Killers were terrific.

Jack White rules, and playing with Lou Reed certainly doesnt hurt.  The house band gimmick was odd, but pretty cool.

Justin Timberlakes performance was pretty good.  Hes aping Michael Jackson as hard as ever, but he at least does a decent job with it.

Al Gore was a pleasent surprise.  His recent popularity has been remarkable and hes acheived a strange celebrity status that I havent seen with any other politician.  If hes truly interested in another run, hes in a great position to launch one.

Jack Black did a good job.  I should be tired of his schtick by now, but I cant help but enjoy him.

Havent seen OK Go yet, but Im assuming they did a solid job as well.

I wasn't a big fan of most of the VMAs (not that I was expected it to be good).  Al Gore was a pleasant surprise however.  I think he's trying to reach a younger audience.  The Killers were okay - nothing memorable, but better than the rest.  I also liked seeing that guy from ZZ Top.

This was horrible-I'm 34-is this stuff entertaining for kids? The 90's this show was great-even 80's-it was at least watchable-2002 was the last show I've seen for obvious reasons-it's a rap award show now-unwatchable-it's sad to see what MTV has become-where are all the rock bands for the future? How did the Chili Peppers video not win? Pink was funny-all drunk

so generic that no other band on the mtv list sounded like them, seriously get a fucking clue, you may hate them, their music and their image but that doesn't make the a generic band.

look around music today how many of the new bands have extended guitar solos and song structures that have some variation to them. i mean someone who taped an entire ozzfest show thought burn it down was 3 seperate songs.

if avenged sevenfold are generic then every other band on the face of the fucking planet would be.
