My bass players girlfriend works for Universal and she said they confirmed on their conference  call yesterday that Interscope will be the label releasing Chinese Democracy for sure.

People have ask here and again if it's going to be Geffen or Interscope. I don't think anyone has ever answered this question with certainty and I came into the info yesterday so I thought I'd share.

I ofcourse asked if they made ANY mention of the release date. She said no, but that it could easily still be scheduled for the 4th quarter.

She also said that they were told to get ready to start promoting and prepping for the album. I started in with more questions but she said they mentioned it at the end of the call in the wrap up session and they weren't allowed to bump in with questions.

So anyways, at least we know for sure that Interscope is the label.

Haha....yeah I felt like a jackass even typing that.

But trust me, I sincerely hope this is a sign of things going in the right direction.

She stressed the fact that they've never mentioned CD on a call ever so she seemed to think it was a big deal.

I mean I know all he has commited to do is present, and that is all I expect, but I think there is so much smoke there has to be fire for something else to happen..... whether it be an interview, a performance, a promotion for cd, a release date, something... I hope that happens, but won't be let down if it doesn't. peace

Isn't Interscope a part of Geffen or vice/versa?  Interscope is listed as the registrant of gnronline.

GNR are still listed under the Geffen Records website though even though the last release they have is Greatest Hits but they have the current tour dates listed here as well-
