I mean, what's there to like? How many new bands out there are really worth it? Huh

If you speak about new bands, I can't even think of one no

Not all of these are brand new, but give a listen to:
Death Cab For Cutie
Arcade Fire
Stars
The New Pornographers
Snow Patrol

I asked the question that started this. I was basically wanting to know what new groups Gilby was listening to that he felt had some staying power. Apparently, in Gilbys opinion, there are none.

Cool interview, Christos!

I liked the question about the staying power of new bands...however he is a classic/old-skool rock dude so that's just his take on things.  I think Death Cab for Cutie has staying power even if it's not (usually) my cup of tea.  I just have to be in a mellow mood to listen to them.

About the box set, I guess he's right  Cry    I remember reading that Izzy,Slash,Duff wrote some stuff together back when VR was the Project, but since Axl didnt sing on them, cant exactly make a box set ouf of it.

C: But these are old bands.

G: Yeah, they really are. You know, there are lots of new bands out there that have potential to grow up, this new band the Killers, I think they're a really good band, they have really good songs, let's see how they grow. It all depends on your growth.

I've interviewed Adler, Izzy answered a few questions for me a couple of years ago and I've also interviewed Teddy Zig Zag.
